As the first new home constructed on Lake of the Isles, Minneapolis in over 50 years, this contemporary custom home stands as the “Gateway” to the historic parkway that encircles the lake. The clean lines and Bauhaus feel bring an architectural style that previously didn’t exist in this truly eclectic neighborhood. Interior spaces and finishes were inspired by local art museums, combining high-end materials into simple forms. This Austin 'man cave' required a unique installation where the door did not intrude into the living area. The door follows the roof line to create maximum space, air and light into the room, allowing the owner to entertain friends and family with ease. For this unique installation, we used a LIftMaster operator mount to secure the track to the ceiling. This bracket was customized to match the hardware of the overhead full-view garage door, as well as the homeowner's chandelier. ORGANIC AND NATURAL DESIGN A well thought out and organized naturalistic style garden design and landscaping compliment the natural terrain of the land and enhance the general theme of the home. In this project, we use natural granite boulders for the fountain accent art and for creating a very natural but dramatic look of the circular driveway island landscaping. We curved boxwood hedge around the existing driveway and soften the garden with hydrangeas, dogwoods, and groundcovers.
