Footprint Architects were called upon to design a new road development in Faith Gardens, Poole. The site was originally a Brownfield site used by the Wyvern Cargo company, but set within a typically suburban surrounding. The challenge was to turn this derelict wasteland into a thriving affordable family housing development, with a modern twist. The new houses had to fit coherently with the surrounding context as well as have a bold, elegant aesthetic. Phase 4 was completed in summer 2016.

Built for the charity Bournemouth War Memorial Homes, Footprint Architects’ development of five new homes provides high quality accommodation for ex-service personnel. The two bedroom bungalows were designed to sit comfortably within the surrounding development using materials of the same colour and type but with the addition of contemporary detailing. Elegant proportions and vaulted ceilings invite light into the south facing living spaces whilst communal gardens foster a sense of community and encourage social interactions. The project was completed in September 2017.

The design responded appropriately to the surrounding context, and ensured that the changes did not adversely impact on existing surroundings. Creating a flexible living space that is thermally efficient and takes advantage of the site views. The porch and glazed link replacement has been upgraded to improve its quality and the buildings thermal efficiency.

We were delighted to work with this Grand Rapids family to remodel their kitchen and dining room utilizing their existing footprint. We replaced all the cabinetry in the kitchen and dining room, added all new lighting fixtures, new quartz countertops and backsplash, sink and faucet, and all new hardware. The kitchen countertops are maple with a white tinted varnish and the dining room buffet cabinetry is maple with a portabella tinted varnish. Hardware throughout has an oil-rubbed bronze finish.
