The movement in my doors is what makes each truly unique. Mahogany is the most stable wood of all. Most durable. I have also used other hardwoods (cherry, walnut, teak). With my favorite tool, the bandsaw, I am able to literally turn my sculptures inside out exposing the true middle of the tree, usually the most hidden and protected. Finding the soft, sensual nature inside a rough material is an exciting challenge. For me, warm wood sculptures and doors are a welcome relief from the frantic qualities of today’s world.

Carved out of a mountainside site, our client’s Canmore retreat was the reward to balance a frantic business life in Japan. The terrain and winter beauty of the site was the foundation for our design intent. Pairing gleaming walnut with rugged stonework artistry created a welcoming and captivating atmosphere. Warmth of material selections offered an engaging and pleasant environment luminous with elements created to slowly calm and sooth. Artistry also defined the crafting and honed qualities of the cabinetry and wood trim detailing throughout.

It all started with a frantic phone call. Susan's husband came home with a huge flat screen tv and she didn't know what or where or how she was suppose to do with it. One thing led to another and a full family room majeiver ensued. Susan loved Mid Century Modern only didn't know that's what it was called, she also loved BLACK, but tended toward too much of it. We added the tv console, recessed lighting, mid century modern Chandelier, black and white area rug, Moroccan black and white, leather pouf, round black leather chair, replaced her flat black window panels with Upholstered Cornices, and new custom pillows, oh and please note, the tv isn't hung on the wall. Oh and the plant and stand,

This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. If you hate your brick or just want something unique this is a great option!
