We wanted this shower to be as light and bright as possible. To accomplish that objective, we actually changed the layout of the whole bathroom, which resulted in the window now being inside the shower. That gave us the opportunity to use glass across the entire length of the shower - which visually opens up the shower, but of course doesn't actually take any more space. Although you can see the shower valve in this photo, notice that you don't see the shower sprayer....it's on the wall that the photographer is backed to when they shot this photo. This keeps nearly all of the shower spray at the enclosed end of the shower, away from the window and door opening. The frameless "barn door" type shower door glides exceptionally smooth, and gives a contemporary detail to this otherwise mostly traditional bathroom.

The twenty foot wide opening for this pocket door system was the creation of Ron Darling. The first of it's kind, the window panels rolled back into pockets in the wall to totally disappear with the push of a button. When open the owners and their guests can interact with the patio as if they were one room. A small track embedded into the granite allows the window panels to glide smoothly back into the wall.
