3 bedroom flat in Hell's Kitchen. Copper metallic tiles added as a back splash to accent and compliment the exposed brick wall to the left. Industrial pendants hang and illuminate off the wall tiles and reflect off the polished Carrara marble bringing a soft glow, a warmth and coziness into a space challenged with natural light. Floating marble shelves house cooking needs and glasses. Storage is limited, so we decided to display the homeowners copper pot collection from the ceiling above.

A hammered texture with a dark copper finish on the outside, gold finish on the inside lends a unique and exclusive look. The torn cutting edge around its rim adds a special accent to this bowl. Natural quartzite countertops with eased edge detail and backsplash to the bottom of window sill. Soft close drawer glides. And most importantly, burnished brass farm sink imported from Italy.

The inspiration for this Glebe kitchen was the white washed interiors synonymous with Scandinavian design. Planning the spaces of the kitchen was something that was broken into 5 key areas; cooking station, cleaning area, coffee bar, place for casual family dining and lastly a nook to sit with a great book that was still integrated in the kitchen. A lovely yard that started as a long bowling alley of lawn. We wanted to create a more human scale in the lounge area without building too many visual barriers. The overall effect is contemporary, but it is met with hints of woodland to help maintain a relaxed atmosphere.
