The master bedroom and adjoining bath are a beautiful way to begin and end your day. The frameless glass shower tub combination creates a very spacious open look that blends perfectly with the rest of the shabby chic style. The crisp white master bath is loaded with great storage and bright light. For a pop of color the Glazzio mosiac tile niche accents the subtle color hues of the rest of the master suite. We used some of the homes original beautiful crystal pulls and mixed them with brushed nickel handles to create what was old is new again!

The previous kitchen was small and dark- black cabinets, cement countertops and gray ledgerstone tile. We opened up the soffit, and used 36" high wall cabinets with crown molding to the ceiling. This kitchen features Waypoint painted Linen cabinets, Bianco Antico natural granite, polished chrome branch handles by Top Knob's Aspen Collection, Kohler Bellera Faucet, Kohler Prolific sink and new Whirlpool appliances. Reclaimed barn board is seen in a few different areas- it's wrapped around the island, frames the TV and there is a single shelf between the pantry cabinets for keys and charging phones. The glass on the dry bar has a verticle twig design adding another rustic element.

Felicity provided a 3D interactive design of the project and based it on Mary’s needs. Mary said, “It felt like she was trying to accommodate my needs by using her knowledge of what I would need in my closet. It felt very natural.” Felicity had a contractor she worked with closely. Together, they handled the project in two days, even with the crown molding that needed to be removed for the projected closet cabinets to reach the ceiling. In the basement's kitchenette, the flooring is Interceramic's Oakwood tile in Cherry. Holiday Kitchens' Petersburg door style in Alder with an Empire stain, Wilsonart's laminate countertop with a D edge in Rustic Slate, Elkay's single bowl drop in Stainless Steel sink, and Moen's kitchen faucet in a Resistant Stainless Steel finish are featured in this space.

For contrast, the wall cabinets have a chestnut stain with a terra brown quartz countertop. Our clients did not want to use recessed lighting in their kitchen, so we designed a custom track system and combined it with pendant lighting in other areas. For more formal family meals, we built a custom banquette that the children can also use for doing homework. The homeowner’s favorite part of the kitchen is the floor to ceiling cabinetry that offers loads of storage space. The children in the family are very active and involved in many activities, but this home was not built to handle their comings and goings and all the “stuff” that goes with it. We removed a closet and used the extra space to create a fantastic mudroom with custom lockers, each with its on bottom drawer on rollers, personal bench, hooks and phone charging station! We also used this area to bring in some of the homeowner’s favorite bright colors. We remodeled the laundry space to make it more functional for the family. Updates include open shelves to store laundry baskets, a new sink, cabinets with an oregano stain, and a countertop at just the right height for the parents. The master bath received a luxurious update to create a relaxing space for mom and dad. A large tile shower replaces the old alcove bathtub and a new double vanity features java stained cabinets and quartz countertops.

The cooktop cabinet was pulled forward 3" and spindles were placed on both sides. An arched valance toe was added to the bottom. The wood hood above was made to incorporate a piece of stained glass that the couple got for their wedding that was made by a family member. A niche was built into the wall behind the cooktop to house oils, salt and pepper grinders, and other cooking tools. The microwave and oven tower was built in to a corner cabinet, a pantry cabinet placed to the left, and the paneled 48" subzero refrigerator was placed on the end. A drop zone/phone center was placed next to the doorway into the kitchen and features a TV, mail slots, a charging station, and the back panel is framed cork for important papers and family pictures.

"TaylorPro remodeled our kitchen, replacing cabinets, countertops and appliances. Keeping with the same footprint of our original kitchen and keeping our original travertine floors, Kerry Taylor helped us select a palette of rich, natural colors and materials--mocha-maple glazed cabinets, handsome granite and polished travertine backsplash tiles--to create a warm and beautiful new kitchen. He offered excellent design suggestions for placements of cabinetry and appliances. He recommended and implemented window trim enhancements as well as paint color and lighting design that brought the kitchen and attached family room together with a modern and very warm look. He created a rich, textured backsplash behind the stovetop that enhances the modern stainless steel vent hood. We couldn't be more pleased with the character and design of the kitchen and family room suite. To begin with, Kerry gave us a detailed estimate covering the likely costs of labor, cabinetry, granite, tile backsplash, construction materials and appliances. His estimate for labor, granite and tile turned out to be ""spot-on"" accurate. Much to our surprise, for example, the granite slabs we selected from Daltile turned out to be exactly the price Kerry had estimated when evaluating the level of materials we would likely install in our kitchen. Kerry kept to his original labor costs, to the penny. Each week, he provided us with an invoice that showed, in percentages, exactly how much labor had been performed that week and how much remained to be done in future weeks. The amounts he charged each week for his labor were exact percentages of the amount of labor his crew had performed to that point. Though these invoices invited us to do a little math to confirm the accuracy of these percentages, Kerry's figures were consistently accurate. The only categories in which Kerry's original estimate did not conform to the actual costs were in the areas of supplies from Home Depot (needed for the remodeling) and supplies from paint and hardware stores (needed for painting). These materials ended up costing somewhat more that Kerry had estimated. However, Kerry did provide us with receipts for all of these supplies. Kerry's cabinet man, Jerry, made a very workable design using pre-fabricated cabinets; he then customized the sizes of at least half of these cabinets to conform to the requirements of the center island, cooktop and pantry spaces. We are very happy with the quality of the cabinets. We found the installation expertise of Jerry's installer, Gil, to be top-rate. His installation achieved a custom look and all the cupboards and drawers worked flawlessly. Kerry's crew, Jake, Randall and Kevin, were great guys to have on site. They respected our property (and our dog) and possessed both skill and integrity. They arrived daily at the time they specified and worked tirelessly to achieve what they set out to do. We couldn't have been happier with their work. Kerry was on site frequently to supervise and coordinate their work and the work of subcontractors.
