The 20K House is an ongoing research project that seeks to address the pressing need for decent and affordable housing in Hale County, Alabama. Nearly 30% of individuals here live in poverty. The lack of conventional credit for people with this level of income, and insufficient knowledge about alternative sources of funding, mean that for many people trailers offer the only chance for home ownership. Unlike a house, which is an asset for its owner, trailers deteriorate very quickly and depreciate in value over time. The 20K House project intends to produce a model home that could be reproduced on a large scale, and thereby become a viable alternative to the trailer in this area. The challenge is to build a house for $20,000, $10-12 of which will go towards materials, and the remainder on contracted labor. The project began in 2005, and there have been 9 iterations of the house so far. The pictured model, "Mac's House", is the second model considered to be a viable model, based on its cost and constructability. The team (one Swede, one Brit, and a Baltimorean) focused on potential expandability within the model - creating a core house that can be extended over time to meet the needs of the occupants. This is a walk in shower, which we planned, designed, and then built at the client's request and with the list of things that needed and wanted from this shower. The overall interior dimensions are 5' Long x 3' wide x 7' tall; Door is 32" wide x 72" tall, and pivots ether into or ou of the shower, whichever way each individual prefera; Bench is 36" wide x 12" deep x 22" tall; the built in shampoo storage areas are 12" wide x 15" tall x 4" deep Walls and ceiling are finished with 3"×8" white glazed beveled subway tiles, the floor and bench are finished with natural river stones set into a mortar bed and filled with sanded grout; shower and door hardware are finished in Matte Black Anodized Brushed Stainless Steel, from Kohler®️, The door I ⅝" Tempered Safety Glass, Frameless.

These doors/windows really are the definition of indoor/outdoor living. The steel doors, and the companion leaded stained glass windows lead from the family room to the pool/patio area. The accents of color seen in the stained glass selections were made by the client. She truly enjoyed going through 30+ years of our project colors and textures, and picking the ones that were her favorites. You'll also notice the use of Rondels, which are the round colored glass pieces. These elements, sometimes referred to as "bottle glass" are all individually hand blown. The great advantage of this style of art-glass is how well it blends into the architecture, and offers the authenticity necessary for a sprawling Mediterranean/Spanish Colonial Hacienda. This Anderson Deck was added to a Prairie Style Architecturally designed home, which sits on a wooded lot. When creating an individual project for the Goldenline Remodeling bathroom remodeling and bathroom renovation, a number of specific features are taken into account: - The color palette is selected individually depending on your wishes. - For small bathrooms, the designer applies solutions that expand the space, for example, rectangular tiles are placed horizontally, and floor tiles are diagonal. - We pay great attention to the selection of furniture and finishing materials. It doesn't matter if it is an economical tile or exclusive porcelain stoneware, stretch ceilings or water-based coating, you can order all the finishes and sets shown on the design projects from our manufacturing partners with a favorable discount. - If necessary, an individual bathroom design project can include redevelopment of the premises.

This basketball court was installed in Syosset Long Island NY by Gappsi. Starting with the location to best fit the 30 x 60 court and the swimming pool area within the already landscaped yard. The construction of the base for the court consists of 6 inches of recycled concrete base and 2 inches of compacted asphalt. It was then sealed, with a 6 x 9 masonry border around the edges. A full size adjustable hoop was also installed. Mateflex tiles modular outdoor flooring tiles were installed over the asphalt, stretched, and then secured all around the perimeter to create an expandable and contracting court floor. A combination of blue and gray colors are selected for the tiles with white striping to outline the Basketball and the pickle ball court., a complete key, a 3-point line, and a capital "S" is printed in the center of the court that stands for the owner's last name. Volleyball/pickle ball lines are also marked on the tile and the adjustable net was installed in the middle of the court. The court was installed in a section of the backyard that was not utilized by the homeowner for any other use. The basketball court fit perfectly and turned this area into a very active sports area for the whole family to enjoy. The Mateflex tiles are the best in the industry. They are manufactured in 12 x 12 inch tiles that are then divided into 16 individual 3 x 3 sections attached to each other with an expansion joint system allowing the court to flex and prevent the tiles from warping in hot and cold weather situation.
