For his new swimming pool, Client specified Day-1 visual privacy from neighbors, including from neighbors' 2nd floor windows. We used graduated heights of rubro (phyllostachys Rubromarginata) up to 25' tall, average density 8 canes per linear foot, with greater density targeted to neighbors' sightlines into pool area. Entire hedge was surrounded with HDPE root-barrier to prevent bamboo from travelling into Client's pool lawn and to neighbors' property.

By installing a custom artificial green wall, the space was instantly transformed into a vibrant and inviting outdoor retreat. The lush vertical greenery adds depth, colour, and texture, beautifully complementing the pool’s blue tones and the surrounding landscaping. The artificial plants provide the look of dense natural foliage while remaining perfectly manicured year-round, with no watering or upkeep required.
The result is a refreshing, resort-inspired atmosphere that enhances privacy, softens the architecture, and creates a relaxing backdrop for the pool area - turning a simple boundary wall into a striking design feature.

Location: Hingham, MA, USA
This newly constructed home in Hingham, MA was designed to openly embrace the seashore landscape surrounding it. The front entrance has a relaxed elegance with a classic plant theme of boxwood, hydrangea and grasses. The back opens to beautiful views of the harbor, with a terraced patio running the length of the house. The infinity pool blends seamlessly with the water landscape and splashes over the wall into the weir below. Planting beds break up the expanse of paving and soften the outdoor living spaces. The sculpture, made by a personal friend of the family, creates a stunning focal point with the open sky and sea behind.
One side of the property was densely planted with large Spruce, Juniper and Birch on top of a 7' berm to provide instant privacy. Hokonechloa grass weaves its way around Annabelle Hydrangeas and Flower Carpet Roses. The other side had an existing stone stairway which was enhanced with a grove of Birch, hydrangea and Hakone grass. The Limelight Tree Hydrangeas and Boxwood offer a fresh welcome, while the Miscanthus grasses add a casual touch. The Stone wall and patio create a resting spot between rounds of tennis. The granite steps in the lawn allow for a comfortable transition up a steeper slope.

Located in the historic neighborhood of Laurelhurst in Portland, Oregon, this kitchen blends the necessary touches of traditional style with contemporary convenience. While the cabinets may look standard in their functionality, you will see in other photos from this project that there are hidden storage treasures which make life more efficient for this family and their young children.
