The Legrand adorne dimmers and switches are the nicest and easiest switches I have ever personally installed. They look incredible, and are thoughtful from cover plate to how the outlets nest to take up less visual space. The best part about the adorne collection is the installation. I was so behind with installing tile and other elements I wasn’t able to install the switches and dimmers until the last day before my photoshoot. Since I hadn’t installed them before, I was concerned the install would be complicated but each piece nested into it’s plate easily and the cover plate went on with a snap. Legrand has handy install videos and each piece comes with detailed install instructions. I’m planning to install the adorne dimmers in the rest of my house and can’t wait to have the ease of control and clean look throughout.

Mel was born and raised in Farnham, England where she was scouted for a full ride field hockey scholarship to UMass, Amherst. She spent a season ski instructing in Breckenridge CO, where she met her husband who is from Saint Albans. Mel excels at what she does through providing clear and transparent communication, and always being detail oriented and well organized. She is thrilled to work alongside clients through each stage of their design and build process, and she is inspired to be a part of the Lewis Creek team, all of whom are committed to do their best work for their clients. Outside from work, Mel spends her time playing field hockey in an adult league and coaching Varsity at MVU (Missisquoi Valley Union) High School. She also loves to ski and snowboard as well as get out boating on Lake Champlain. Her favorite destination is anywhere hot with a freshwater lake or exploring a new ski mountain. She loves to adventure to a new place and she rarely goes back to the same place twice. People are often surprised to find out that she rides a motorcycle and converted a storage building into her first home. Her guilty pleasure is dark chocolate covered dried mango or raisins.

The clients had just moved into an impressive Victorian house and the existing kitchen was in a very poor state. After seeing one of our adverts they made an appointment to visit the studio for an initial consultation, and after spending some time with Stephen they invited him to visit the house to begin the design process. He quickly came up with some concept ideas that initially included removing two internal walls which would really open up the existing space, yet considering the timescale the clients decided to concentrate on creating just a beautiful kitchen. With concept designs done and budgets considered they decided to instruct us for the complete project. We began with the building works that would allow a new kitchen to be fitted, this comprised of removal of the existing kitchen, installation of a new sub-floor and electric underfloor heating. The floors were finished with natural Limestone which just left installation of new power and lighting and a complete re-plaster. Including fitting the new bespoke kitchen, the project was completed over an eight week time period and on budget.

If you fail to take care of the reclining mechanism, however, your chair may lose this ability. Oil the mechanism regularly to ensure that it continues to work smoothly.
