Our team designed the deck specifically for this home and the client's wishes. This new balcony/deck is a functional new way to interact with the home. The staircase access allows a greater ability for use of the backyard as well as an additional fire safety route. This cedar wood deck features metal railing and support beams, and vinyl flooring. Final painting will be done in Spring 2024 as the weather warms up properly for the chosen paint.

Before: Previously, the kitchen's compact 128-square-foot layout had no space for a proper island. The confined area, bordered by walls and an adjacent dining room, made the kitchen feel closed off and disjointed from the rest of the home. Without an island, the kitchen lacked a central hub for meal prep, dining, and social interaction, limiting its functionality and appeal. The absence of this feature left the homeowners with limited counter space and nowhere to gather or entertain comfortably.

Philadelphia Row Home Renovation focusing on maximizing storage for a young family of 5. We created a "mudroom" in the front of the row home with a large living room space for family time + hosting. We used kid-friendly furnishings with performance fabrics that are durable and easy to clean. Prioritized eco-friendly selections, utilizing locally sourced + American made pieces.

The formal living area in this Brooklyn brownstone once had an awful marble fireplace surround that didn't properly reflect the home's provenance. Sheetrock was peeled back to reveal the exposed brick chimney, we sourced a new mantel with dental molding from architectural salvage, and completed the surround with green marble tiles in an offset pattern. The chairs are Mid-Century Modern style and the love seat is custom-made in gray leather. Custom bookshelves and lower storage cabinets were also installed, overseen by antiqued-brass picture lights.

Located on a tight corner lot, the design of this addition left one wall standing and built a new home around it. The home fits wonderfully into a neighborhood full of mature trees and front porches. We placed generous porches on both the front and back of the house to maximize the owners' use of the lot. There's even a balcony off of the master bedroom with planters for herbs and flowers. The kitchen, though compact, is a chef's dream. There are also windows placed behind the upper cabinets to create a backlighting effect during the day and bring more natural light into the space. Inspiration for a timeless bedroom remodel in Charleston

Torr Kaelan Mixed Use / San Diego, California This five-story, zero energy mixed-use building sits in the shadow of the new Central Library and houses the Quigley Architectural offices. The "juicy joint" block is animated by San Diego's bright sun and protects a series of balconies and bay windows meant to encourage an interactive "conversation" with the street. 42' wide and constructed of fireproof materials, a penthouse rental unit perches above the offices and faces 13th street. Unusual in a dense urban situation, the top floor living/dining area has light from the ceiling and three sides allowing the path of the sun to continually alter the mood of the space. Archaic California and City laws prohibited logical grey water recycling. The unusual roof form provides the proper angle for solar collectors and guides rain water to the back of the site where it is channeled and filtered through gardens and stones before it reaches the street. This image highlights the open concept layout achieved during a full house renovation in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood of Vancouver, completed by Arani Construction Inc. The kitchen island with integrated gas cooktop now faces the expanded living and dining area, creating a continuous and highly functional main floor layout. As part of the structural renovation, multiple interior walls were removed to transform the previously segmented floor plan into a large open space. In addition to removing the wall between the kitchen and dining area, another wall separating the dining room from the living room was also removed. Structural beams were installed to properly support the load while allowing the entire main level to remain open. This transformation created a long, uninterrupted sightline from one exterior window to another across the house, allowing natural light to travel through the entire space. The new layout significantly improves circulation, visibility, and interaction between the kitchen, dining, and living areas while maintaining the modern functionality of the kitchen island workspace.

The top view shown in this design presentation provides a full-color, scaled 3D overview of the final kitchen layout. It allows clients and trade professionals to visualize the spatial relationships between key elements—such as the two islands, perimeter cabinetry, appliance zones, custom banquette, and bar area—in a single glance. Why It’s Important: Clarifies Functionality: The top view reveals how traffic will flow, how different zones (cooking, prep, dining, entertaining) interact, and how open the space feels after removing the dividing wall. Enhances Communication: It serves as a bridge between the technical floor plan and the client’s understanding—making it easier for everyone from homeowners to electricians and cabinet installers to be on the same page. Reduces Mistakes: With every element clearly placed and proportioned, it helps avoid on-site guesswork and ensures proper measurements and installations from day one. This project was an exploration in taking and urban corner lot and transforming it into and urban farm of sorts. The project incorporated rainwater tanks, raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, chicken coop, prefab studio, composite deck, poured in place concrete, pre-cast concrete, custom wood features, a green wall, custom bench/fountain, lighting, swimming pool with solar hot water heating, an outdoor kitchen, drip irrigation which is controlled by smart phone, landscape lighting which can be controlled by smart phone. A fun project where we melded contemporary elements with sustainable/ self sufficient principles.

The Conceptual Design Development- RENESA ARCHITECTURE DESIGN INTERIORS have recently completed an interiors project for a penthouse(The PentHaus) in Gurgaon. The basic design requirement as per the client was to divide the floor plates in the penthouse on the basis of public and private relationship.(With the public interaction and services on the lower level with the private interface on the upper level). The design philosophy as dictated and understood was on the lines of contrast in colors with the play of art and decorative pieces highlighting the depth in the detailing of the accessorization of the whole scale model. The client's interest in art and design pieces worked in favor for RENESA DESIGN STUDIO as it was a value-addition to the whole interior decor design process. Credits need to be given to the client for the right selection of art pieces in terms of the color pallet blending into the design philosophy set by RENESA STUDIO. A mix of contemporary modern with classical essence here and there provides a smooth transition of amalgamation of different design philosophies in a given space model. The play of solid volumes with double height spaces gives the apartment a very expansive and grand look at the entrance. Thus a line of communication is created between the public and private zones via the massive chandelier mass structure in the middle of the entrance foyer. RENESA ARCHITECTURE STUDIO carefully studied and analyzed the given area and the clients requirement for the look and feel for the space (internal decor) and planned the space accordingly. The positioning and placement of art pieces, furniture and furnishings once decided by RENESA was left to the client to decide and they did proper justification to the space with some amazing decor choice to value add to the existing space design by the architects. It is also great to have clients with good design taste as it is always a value addition to the architect's vision. Each and every space has been demarcated with its own essence of design so that they stand out and give a new experience to the visitor while passing through. Also, the toilets have been carefully crafted according to the ambience of the space. Different specialized Italian stones for each different toilets gives a new experience for the viewers. Perhaps the contrasting color pallets of the activity zones change so massively that the eye catching experiential pathway is induced at the lower level of the apartment. The kitchen area has been expansively designed to give a very airy feeling to the household activities. Huge windows with amazing views provide a perfect setup for a good-to-cook ambiance at any time of the day. The deck area for the Penthouse has been carefully crafted in terms of keeping the pallet on the green side with a tinge of hardscaping with the lit backdrop of the penthouse adding character to this external space. Hence, all in all the character of a bling-y yet subtle design space is created at this apartment with more importance given to the transparency of the space transitions with the careful play of the color shade card in the backdrop.
