The kitchen, breakfast room and family room are all open to one another. The kitchen has a large twelve foot island topped with Calacatta marble and features a roll-out kneading table, and room to seat the whole family. The sunlight breakfast room opens onto the patio which has a built-in barbeque, and both bar top seating and a built in bench for outdoor dining. The large family room features a cozy fireplace, TV media, and a large built-in bookcase. The adjoining craft room is separated by a set of pocket french doors; where the kids can be visible from the family room as they do their homework.

This study off the kitchen acts as a control center for the family. Kids work on computers in open spaces, not in their rooms. Green linoleum covers the desk for a durable and cleanable surface. A young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone. White Marble countertops in “Alpine Mist” create a harmonious color palette while the pale blue/grey Waterworks backsplash adds a touch of color. We’re always pleased when someone contacts us after reading all of our glowing reviews on Yelp. One was a prospective client who had just purchased a beautiful townhouse with exposed brick and was planning a renovation. He wanted to include a brand-new home theater system along with audio for the home’s indoor areas, outdoor patio and roof desk. We were happy to provide a free DTV Installations consultation and estimate, and once we finalized the details we were able to get to work. We tackled this project in two stages. First, we did all of the required in-wall and in-ceiling wiring while renovation contractors worked to revamp the townhouse. We then returned months later when construction was finished, to install the electronics and accessories.
