The client, who lives out of the Country most of the time, desired a regal haven for their quaint and quiet resort style living to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and dramatic sunsets views. One of the desires of the client was to provide a balance between the Formality and Sensibility. Our design included a formal and dramatic raised infinity Pool, which is connected by way of a terraced water runnel, to an infinity Spa located just off the French doors of the master bedroom. The infinity Pool being raised allows for a wonderful connection of water bodies between the Ocean. and the Pool. Other amenities of the design includes a solid roof extension creating a quaint outdoor dining room to enjoy the stately nearby cook center. Additional elements to highlight this vacation retreat include multiple water features, warm limestone paving, refined pottery accents, with multiple patios and seating areas to enjoy for almost any function or purpose. All these fantastic features are wrapped together in a colorful palette of eclectic Mediterranean plantings, which elegantly provides that balance of classical function and lush aesthetics.

A bridge, a lazy river, a waterfall, and cozy nooks for seating all combine to create a playful, yet relaxing outdoor living environment. The lovely landscaping is incorporated into the entire setting to make this pool in Valencia even more inviting.

A welcoming entrance leads you into this wine country home. With plants native to a mediterranean climate lining the walkway as you make your way to the rustic wood door. We lightened up the entire house from the outside in, bringing it from shades of dark brown to lighter beiges and clean whites.

Location: Cohasset, MA, USA When my clients purchased this historic house, they saw that this garden held great potential, even though the property had been somewhat neglected. They wanted the new landscape to evoke the feeling of an Olde Maine house that time had forgotten. Sitting on the front veranda in the shade of the treasured Horse Chestnut and Maple trees that flank each side of the house, we explored the possibilities together. The front yard sloped a bit too much for comfort, so we determined that building a stone wall in the middle would create a terrace, making both parts of the lawn more usable. Visions of parties and children's weddings came to mind. We put a set of elegant arching steps in the middle, leading down to the sunken garden. Large, mature Rhododendrons were planted at the base of the Horse Chestnut and Maple trees just off the front veranda. Boxwoods undulate beneath the trees with Vinca as a ground cover. Ticonderoga stone was used for the walls and steps, which was the closest match to the existing stone foundation. The exquisite masonry by Doug Brooks Masonry makes this staircase as elegant as a tiered wedding cake. A riot of perennials offer a beautiful foreground to the views of the harbor.
