Zola European WindowsNestled in a wooded area in the Pacific Northwest, the 1800 sf Passive Cedar Haus was built as a retirement home. The Artisans Group designed the layout of the home, mindful of aging in place, and working to ensure that the home blended in with the surrounding natural beauty. The project meets a complex program, with an unheated sleeping porch for a master bedroom, a screened porch, a 600 sf caretakers apartment/mother in law unit, large wood shop, plus a two car carport. The home seamlessly integrates a floating cedar tongue and groove roof with large sheltering overhangs, clerestory windows, and language of cedar slats for privacy screens and doors inside and out. This ultra energy efficient home relies on extremely high levels of insulation, air-tight detailing and construction, and the implementation of high performance, custom made European windows and doors by Zola Windows. Zola’s ThermoPlus Clad line, which boasts R-11 triple glazing and is thermally broken with a layer of patented German Purenit®, was selected for the project. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area, gives an expansive view of the surrounding Northwest forest. The tops of these windows reveal the interior cedar clad and the up-swept soffits on the home’s exterior, creating a floating ceiling effect. Slatted spruce wood fly-overs break up the vertical areas of the great room and define separate areas that would otherwise feel like an overwhelmingly expansive space.

Soul Interiors Design, LLCOur Pasadena studio transformed this 1908 carriage house for our clients, a husband-and-wife team who own a leading Family Law practice in Pasadena. We created an inspiring workspace that doubles as a craft area, promising to boost energy and promote relaxation. We started with Thibaut's eye-catching Dynasty collection wallcovering, which served as an inspiration for the space and satisfied the client's love of mood-boosting color. Charming floral-inspired hardware from Modern Matter (with original roots as a jewelry atelier) serves as a nod to the client's love of fine detail and complements the room's botanical wallcovering. We also carved out a dedicated jewelry-making area, which serves as a relaxing break from day-to-day pressures. Built-in desks, cabinets, and tall storage from California Closets make organizing a breeze. At the same time, plants, improved LED lighting, a music system, and vibrant colors enhance the space's mood-boosting benefits promoting creativity, focus, and energy – a perfect antidote to a hectic digital lifestyle.

Tracey Stephens Design, LLCThe in-law suite kitchen could only be in a small corner of the basement. The kitchen design started with the question: how small can this kitchen be? The compact layout was designed to provide generous counter space, comfortable walking clearances, and abundant storage. The bold colors and fun patterns anchored by the warmth of the dark wood flooring create a happy and invigorating space.

Kabloom LandscapingJeff River Law- Color was added to break up the green, tan and grey combo pre existing. The client added their own later, we painted some existing furniture previously lost in the yard.
Regency Custom HomesThis 5,288 livable square feet home was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and it provides elegant living with beautiful views. It boasts high ceilings throughout, with some of them reaching 16 feet. There is hidden lighting in art niches and ceiling soffits for a soft and relaxed atmosphere. The residence includes a stand-alone guest house that can be used for a professional home office or for an in-law retreat.
The home has cabinets and matching doors that are made from solid Alder wood. Granite slab countertops in the wet bar, selected alcoves, and kitchen are found around the residence, and there is high-grade carpet and natural slate flooring and vanities throughout. There are striking butt-glass windows in every room, and unique features such as a “floating” countertop and bowl in the powder room. Brand names throughout the home include Kohler, Delta, Carrier, Jacuzzi, Titan, and Jordan.
The master suite has a fireplace, exercise room, and beautiful views. The master bath has a custom-designed and sculpted glass shower, make up table, his and her vanities, and a large wardrobe with hook ups for a stackable washer/dryer. Sound insulation is used in the interior walls of the bathrooms and bedrooms, and low E, thermal-break windows allow for efficient heating and cooling.
The outside has a heated pool that contains its own cleaning system, and a spa. There is also beautiful landscaping with stunning nightscape lighting.
