Embracing the notion of commissioning artists and hiring a General Contractor in a single stroke, the new owners of this Grove Park condo hired WSM Craft to create a space to showcase their collection of contemporary folk art. The entire home is trimmed in repurposed wood from the WNC Livestock Market, which continues to become headboards, custom cabinetry, mosaic wall installations, and the mantle for the massive stone fireplace. The sliding barn door is outfitted with hand forged ironwork, and faux finish painting adorns walls, doors, and cabinetry and furnishings, creating a seamless unity between the built space and the décor. So basically the lesson learned: Is be patient, consider loads of extras and put in a lot of your own time. Was it worth it - YES and I would do it again.

Creating a warm and inviting make up studio in a small space doesn't have to feel stuffy or "break the bank". The "pièce de ré·sis·tance", light grey velvet tufted settee adds a truly luxe feel without overcrowding the space. White velvet drapes adorn the windows and doors to allow for much needed natural makeup light. A makeup day wouldn't be complete without "champs" stored on a glass & gold bar cart. The grey & white shag area rug welcomes naked toes. Plenty of product storage shelving and seating at the dining table for makeup parties and lessons.
