As part of a full condo renovation at the Capilano Building in Woodcroft, North Vancouver, this kitchen was redesigned to create a brighter and more open living space. Two walls were removed and the kitchen opening was widened to improve the flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The new design features custom soft-tone cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and a quartz peninsula with a waterfall edge that acts as both a functional workspace and a visual focal point. The full-height quartz backsplash continues the clean contemporary aesthetic while reflecting light throughout the space. New flooring was installed across the entire condo, helping unify the open layout. This permitted renovation required careful coordination with strata management and building logistics, ensuring the project was completed smoothly within Woodcroft building guidelines.

Pool - pool idea in San Francisco

A client who had seen our stunning installation at Spring Hill Suites in Oceanside, California wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday and give her a 112 square foot living wall at the front entry of their house. He was set on the style of the wall being succulents in a tight pattern. This raised two huge challenges: 1) How to overcome his three week lead time: First, the manufacturer's lead time to get us the wall materials is four weeks. The plants in this type of system usually require three months to get rooted. 2) How to attach a system meant for flat surfaces onto his CURVED front wall. Square peg, meet curved hole. Operations Manager Kerry Bauer made drawings and a mock up for a system created from the green ROOF components GreenScaped Buildings has used on certain projects. She chose parts she knew shipped within one week to eliminate the lead time issue. A landscape edging element, specifically designed to handle curves, could also overcome the challenge of the curved wall. But what about the time needed for growing the plants? By using an advanced soil replacement media block, the wall installation could allow the plants to root while installed vertically. GreenScaped Buildings collaborated with the client and supplier Green Meadow Growers to choose appropriate sedums and succulents for the east-facing coastal climate of Encinitas and lay out a pattern of organic wave shapes. Katelyn Hutchings tackled the procurement aspects of the project while construction foreman John Rodenbo prepared the site and installation logistics. Installation took three days. How do you think it turned out? The final product exceeded the client's expectations, and he has already invited GreenScaped Buildings to collaborate on his upcoming commercial hotel project with the goal of integrating a living wall there to enhance his hotel as much as it has enhanced his home.

Full interior renovation of a Downtown Vancouver townhouse completed over nine months. Scope included a complete kitchen renovation, two bathroom renovations, custom millwork throughout, herringbone hardwood flooring, and a new glass stair guardrail. The project was designed by Accentrix Designs and built by Roka Projects, with Roka managing all permits, trade coordination, and construction from start to finish. Strata coordination was required throughout, including building system shutdowns and elevator logistics for material access — typical of the additional layer of complexity that comes with renovating in a downtown Vancouver strata property. Returning home after more than a decade living and working in Taiwan, our client envisioned something entirely different from the French Colonial aesthetic of his early-1990s Beaverton home. Through a comprehensive design-build renovation, this Portland metro whole-house remodel transformed a conventional suburban residence into a richly layered retreat inspired by global travel, natural materials, and timeless craftsmanship. The result is a warm, sophisticated home designed to showcase treasured artifacts and collectibles gathered from years abroad while providing modern functionality for everyday living. From the moment you enter, the home's new character unfolds through a carefully curated palette of wood, stone, and metal. Rich ebony-stained knotty alder millwork draws the eye through the entry, where a newly created mudroom replaces the former office space. Beyond a set of dramatic barn doors, a striking stone fireplace becomes the focal point of the living room, anchored by a reclaimed wood mantel and rustic ceiling beams that add warmth and architectural depth. I couldn't be more proud of how it turned out. Building around a huge immovable object like a fish tank comes with some significant challenges. You have to come up with creative ways to conceal all of the equipment while keeping the furniture functional. In addition, you have something in your building path that needs to be kept pristine while you are handling about a mullion things that want to scratch it. Nerve racking.
