Glacier Glass Splashback.
This client opted for two tone cabinets and therefore wanted a neutral backdrop to make to make their cabinets sing!
We created a glass splashback behind the range cooker, and then some matching glass up stands. This gives the client flexibility of repainting the walls to transform the look of the kitchen.
The two-tone cabinets have a hand crafted feel, and we particularly love the flash of dark grey on the mantel.
Glass is the perfect alternative to tiles. Modern, easy clean and completely customisable it has many advantages. It is possible to choose any colour or design, creating something completely unique.
The versatility of glass means that it can be shaped around any obstacle, including cooker hoods and shelving.
At DIY Splashbacks we can create bespoke glass products in any size, shape, colour, pattern or image. It's even possible for clients to provide their own image, and we can digitally print on to it. Whatever your inspiration is, we can make it.

"The Beauty of the Earth. Natural Watercolor"
Healing Art for Healthcare project.
Offering as ready metal, wood, acrylic, or farmed prints or canva in a different sizes. Also available as image licensing for your own local printing.
Worldwide delivery.
I seem to have lost track of countless times this grass photo has sold, as prints or as digital licenses to interior design and art advisors companies for healthcare projects. Just couple of months ago this image license was sold once again for wall art project in one of USA clinic.
The reasons why it will be suitable almost for any wall art solution for healthcare spaces:
- It immediately meets strict hospital Evidence-Based Design (EBD) criteria, which require realistic, non-threatening nature imagery.
- Zero Cognitive Fatigue. The composition lacks complex abstract shapes
- Flawless Color Compatibility. The natural green and blue undertones perfectly match standard healthcare finish palettes.
Research from The Center for Health Design shows that a balanced green-blue palette operates as a natural visual sedative, lowering acute environmental tension.
- Soft Fascination. For an image to restore mental energy, it must possess "soft fascination", visual properties that catch the eye gently without requiring active cognitive processing.
- Macro Minimalism. The viewer's eyes easily rest on central, glowing blades of grass, shifting the nervous system from a sympathetic state to a parasympathetic (rest-and-recover) state.
- Sunlight and Hope. Neurologically, sunlight signals a brand-new day, triggering the release of serotonin and offsetting the sterile, windowless spaces.

Grand Interior Elevation: Custom Masonry and Seamless Architectural Transitions
This perspective highlights the verticality and structural flow of the estate. By balancing heavy natural stone with warm wood accents, the design achieves a "mountain modern" luxury aesthetic that is both imposing and inviting.
Full-Height Stone Fireplace: A massive, floor-to-ceiling fireplace serves as the room’s primary focal point. The stone features a dynamic natural grain and is finished with a custom decorative iron hearth gate, echoing the scrollwork found throughout the home.
Italian Porcelain Foundations: The large-format Italian porcelain plank tiles continue through this high-traffic transition zone, demonstrating the material's versatility and the precision of the layout across multiple structural planes.
Integrated Woodworking: The custom timber door frames and cabinetry are hand-selected to match the vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling, creating a cohesive wood-toned "envelope" for the upper half of the room.
Spatial Connectivity: The decorative wrought iron and timber railing provides a visual bridge to the lower levels, ensuring the open-concept layout maintains a sense of safety and defined boundaries without sacrificing the airy feel.
Strategic Lighting: Recessed LED pot lights are precision-mounted within the cedar ceiling to provide even illumination while highlighting the textures of the stone and soapstone alcove.

The kitchen windows faced both south and west however were designed to maximize natural lighting on any given day, no matter of the sun's position. The upper windows on the south elevation were treated with a 5 banded motorized shade (one motor controlling 5 shade bands). The lower south & west facing windows used single banded Somfy RTS (radio series) motors, RF wall switches & a wifi smart phone interface called MyLInk. The angled windows were treated using a LCD switchable window film. This is a 65 volt charged LCD film that turns clear when an electrical current is applied. The power supply is switched using an RF remote to give the client full control on demand. In the clear state, the film has a UV rating of 81% and only 4% when in the opaque state.

These zoomed-in details of the Hayden, Idaho master suite really drive home the high-end "Spa" atmosphere. The combination of the custom woodwork and the professional heating technology is exactly what luxury clients look for on Houzz.
Master Spa Artisan Details: Custom Storage & Thermal Comfort
This perspective showcases the thoughtful, "Creative and Expensive" details that transform a master bathroom into a high-performance wellness sanctuary. By integrating specialized Knotty Alder millwork with professional-grade warming technology, we ensured that every element of the post-shower routine is as luxurious as the 18-head hydrotherapy experience itself.
Artisan Features & Thermal Engineering:
Custom Towel Command Center: We designed this floor-to-ceiling Knotty Alder cabinet with a specialized upper cubby grid. These 12 individual cubicles provide a clean, organized, and "boutique spa" feel for rolled towels, keeping them within arm's reach of the soaking tub.
Professional Towel Warmer: To the right of the wood-cased window, we installed a high-efficiency hydronic towel warmer in a crisp white finish. This ensures a consistent "warm wrap" experience, bridging the gap between the heated water and the climate-controlled room.
Integrated Warmth: The entire space is anchored by a thermostat-controlled radiant floor heating system installed beneath the Italian porcelain body tile. This provides invisible, consistent heat that keeps the large-format tile at a comfortable temperature year-round.
Knotty Alder Window Casings: The thick, hand-finished wood trim frames the serene Hayden landscape, grounding the modern heating tech with the organic, rustic textures that define the Inland Northwest style.
Functional Sophistication: The lower Shaker-style cabinet doors feature heavy-duty hardware and furniture-grade joinery, proving that even the most functional storage in a high-end estate should be built to an artisan standard.

Our client invited us over to walk the house while under contract, we knew right there what a super hidden opportunity this property presents. Seeing through what was in vogue in early 1970’s and trying to understand the architectural decisions made over 50 years ago, drawing analysis and seeking a flow that connects to our client’s present need for their family and lifestyle was a bit challenging. Timing was of the essence for our client and we had to get the house refreshed in 6 months.
Arriving this Country French brick home, the first thing you’ll notice is the ancient slate roof that we work diligently to preserve, removing, refreshing and reinstalling each slate by hand to preserve its ancient uniqueness. On the main level, we installed a custom modern digital Jet shower with multiple heads, a sprawling boutique style walk in closet and an open plan kitchen as a backdrop for souring height living room.
Our client is a top golfer and it was crucial to install a state of the art golf simulator on the lower level, we redesigned the bar by the Grand billiard room as the main entertaining area in the house, upgrade the gym with an addition of steam room and state of the arts equipment.
The pool and outdoor living area right on Chattahoochee was recently permitted and currently under construction.
The top highlight for us as a builder is the wine cellar. Walking into the wine cellar, you noticed the ancient Spanish tiles, you can perceive the strong smell of ancient oak wood, it smells like it’s been freshly sawed. Our approach to the wine cellar was to do nothing, preserving it as the part of the house that takes us back to 1970’s

This perspective showcases a masterful blend of traditional warmth and artisan metalwork. The transition from the living area to the lower level is defined by robust, custom-milled wood newel posts with a rich natural finish, perfectly anchoring the intricate wrought-iron scrollwork balustrade.
The design creates an open, airy feel while maintaining the home’s rustic character, complemented by wide-plank flooring and clean architectural lines. Notable features include:
Hand-Forged Ironwork: A decorative "S-scroll" pattern that adds a touch of Mediterranean flair to the Inland Northwest aesthetic.
Integrated Design: Seamless coordination between the stair railing and the vaulted ceiling’s wood accents.
Artistic Focal Point: The landing serves as a gallery space, highlighted by unique recessed wall art that adds depth and personality to the transition zone.
