Carefully orientated and sited on the edge of small plateau this house looks out across the rolling countryside of North Canterbury. The 3-bedroom rural family home is an exemplar of simplicity done with care and precision.
Tucked in alongside a private limestone quarry with cows grazing in the distance the choice of materials are intuitively natural and implemented with bare authenticity.
Oiled random width cedar weatherboards are contemporary and rustic, the polished concrete floors with exposed aggregate tie in wonderfully to the adjacent limestone cliffs, and the clean folded wall to roof, envelopes the building from the sheltered south to the amazing views to the north. Designed to portray purity of form the outer metal surface provides enclosure and shelter from the elements, while its inner face is a continuous skin of hoop pine timber from inside to out.
The hoop pine linings bend up the inner walls to form the ceiling and then soar continuous outward past the full height glazing to become the outside soffit. The bold vertical lines of the panel joins are strongly expressed aligning with windows and jambs, they guild the eye up and out so as you step in through the sheltered Southern entrances the landscape flows out in front of you.
Every detail required careful thought in design and craft in construction. As two simple boxes joined by a glass link, a house that sits so beautifully in the landscape was deceptively challenging, and stands as a credit to our client passion for their new home & the builders craftsmanship to see it though, it is a end result we are all very proud to have been a part of.

Client had originally a separate bidet and toilet in this bathroom. Focus was to make sure all new items fit correctly in the space as required. This bathroom is referred to the “burning man renovation” . A creative plan was implemented to include clients memorabilia of necklaces collected through the years. The homeowners wanted a space in which to meditate. It seemed ideal to create that in a corner that seemed to have no purpose after the atrium was covered over. The CPD-designed bench with cushion doubles as storage for towels and bath implements.

organization in a small area. The vanity is a lesser depth with a bump out for the sink area making it less massive in the small space.
It has 3 narrow draws for make-up and a woman sundries. 1 slightly higher draw for bottles and creams, shaving cream a deep draw with a socket and storage for a hair blower, brushes, hair implements and a built in hamper.
The Robern curved reccess medicine cabinet with lights, 2 side cabinets are mirrored inside out, includes adjustable glass shelves, radio, plugs and a defogger to prevent steam from the shower fogging up the glass.
Notice there is a crown molding running around the ceiling in marble, which supports the mirrored ceiling without using unsightly metal moldings for support.

This 2,700 square-foot renovation of an existing brick structure has provided a stunning, year round vacation home in the Lake Sunapee region. Located on the same footprint as the original brick structure, the new, one-story residence is oriented on the site to take advantage of the expansive views of Mts. Sunapee and Kearsarge. By implementing a mix of siding treatments, textures and materials, and unique rooflines the home complements the surrounding site, and caps off the top of the grassy hill.
New entertainment rooms and porches are located so that the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains are always prominent. Dressed in bright and airy colors, the spaces welcome conversation and relaxation in spectacular settings. The design of three unique spaces, each of which experience the site differently, contributed to the overall layout of the residence. From the Adirondack chairs on the colonnaded porch to the cushioned sofas of the sunroom, personalized touches of exquisite taste provide an undeniably comforting atmosphere to the site.

In the Eugene area, this stunning bathroom remodel exudes glamour and contemporary elegance.
Neil Kelly design consultant Gregory Thomas transformed the space into a luxurious spa retreat, featuring a striking marble tile vanity wall, a sleek freestanding soaking tub, and a spacious shower complete with a functional bench.
To enhance the glam factor, Thomas selected gold and satin brass finishes for the fixtures, complementing minimalist window casings and high-gloss cabinets.
Despite challenges like exterior walls and plumbing logistics, innovative solutions like furring out walls and precise plumbing rerouting were implemented. Special features include trim-less windows and doors, meticulously aligned vanity elements, and large-format porcelain tiles with integrated storage niches. The result is a harmonious, serene space that perfectly balances modern aesthetics with functional design.

Yolseuiloyan: Nahuatl word that means "the place where the heart rests and strengthens." The project is a sustainable eco-tourism complex of 43 cabins, located in the Sierra Norte de Puebla, Surrounded by a misty forest ecosystem, in an area adjacent to Cuetzalan del Progreso’s downtown, a magical place with indigenous roots.
The cabins integrate bio-constructive local elements in order to favor the local economy, and at the same time to reduce the negative environmental impact of new construction; for this purpose, the chosen materials were bamboo panels and structure, adobe walls made from local soil, and limestone extracted from the site. The selection of materials are also suitable for the humid climate of Cuetzalan, and help to maintain a mild temperature in the interior, thanks to the material properties and the implementation of bioclimatic design strategies.
For the architectural design, a traditional house typology, with a contemporary feel was chosen to integrate with the local natural context, and at the same time to promote a unique warm natural atmosphere in connection with its surroundings, with the aim to transport the user into a calm relaxed atmosphere, full of local tradition that respects the community and the environment.
The interior design process integrated accessories made by local artisans who incorporate the use of textiles and ceramics, bamboo and wooden furniture, and local clay, thus expressing a part of their culture through the use of local materials.

J Hill Interiors was brought on to this project to select all construction materials, lighting, flooring, cabinetry, finishes and paint colors for all three homes. We worked alongside the developers and contractors by providing all material and finish schedules, floor plans and elevations to implement the design.

This renovation was a major overhaul. It’s saving grace was enthusiastic new home owners and the gorgeous view of Okanagan Lake.
We were tasked with concept planning for optimizing access, interior & exterior flow, renovation strategy on where best to begin. We the created an ordered implementation sequence which would allow the homeowners to live on one floor while the other was being renovated - and later move to the finished floor and renovate the remaining areas, style planning, millwork planning, interior finish selections, and exterior selections.
Once complete, the home quickly sold for record amount and we look forwards to assisting these happy investors on their next endeavour.

We have something to show you
An interesting idea that we have implemented.
Pay attention to the combination of tiles in this project.
Wood and marble
This is typical for eco and Scandinavian style ?
The perfect combination of contrasting wooden tiles with white marble tiles with a fuzzy pattern. Wooden textures in modern bathrooms create contrast, marble adds sophistication.

Leader Online, a UK-based company, approached us to support the launch of Nosa, a new sanitary ware brand targeting the British market.
With competition in the sector increasing, they required a cohesive set of visuals for their numerous products to establish a consistent visual language across e-commerce platforms, catalogs, and promotional materials.
It was a complete brand creation from scratch, and we pulled it off.
Key tasks:
- Develop a cohesive visual brand identity for Nosa
- Produce over 2,000 high-quality 3D visualizations
within five months
- Optimize workflows for high efficiency and a unified
visual standard
Our approach:
To efficiently manage high production volumes and accelerate feedback, we implemented an optimized workflow system. This transformed our render production into an assembly line, drastically cutting individual product processing time while upholding top image quality.
Nosa's unique marble, with its distinct veins and inclusions, was central to their brand. Since no existing textures matched, we requested physical samples.
Upon receiving the stone, we set up an improvised photo studio, capturing every detail. Our goal was
not just to replicate the marble in 3D, but to preserve
its raw, organic beauty.
We applied the same meticulous process to metal materials for accurate shade representation. Nosa prioritized authenticity, ensuring buyers saw the true material, not an over-polished version.
Result:
Nosa's market entry surpassed all expectations.
Fueled by its compelling visual identity, the brand achieved strong initial sales and is now rapidly expanding its product range, cementing its presence.
We are proud to continue our partnership with Nosa
to this day.
