Bedroom - mid-sized transitional master carpeted and beige floor bedroom idea in Portland with pink walls and no fireplace

These are plywood floors. Yes, you read that right. Plywood. For $200 and a LOT of woman-power (like, 100 hours of sanding and staining), these floors look and feel amazing! Goodbye old beige carpeting! Add a LOLOI rug and wow - warm, cozy and gorgeous!

My client hated their large 80's style jacuzzi, and wanted us to remove it. We added a much larger shower, with seating, and a new coat of paint on their vanities, with a new quartz countertop. I had fun, with running their porcelain floor in a herringbone pattern, to add more elegance to this space. My client also wanted to keep cost down, so we went with cabinetry from pottery barn, instead of a custom build. These changes took this space from 80's builder grade look, to a new sleek design, that is sure to last years to come.

This client wanted to refresh her bedroom without making any major purchases, which she'd done 5 year earlier to initially furnish the space. We kept the wall color (Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige), the upholstered bed, nightstands, bedside lamps, and area rug. We curated her own art, borrowing from different rooms in the house, created a reading corner vignette, and purchased all new bedding linens. Soft, dusky pink and blush pink accents added just a hint of color in an otherwise neutral room.

This DIY batten wall is my favorite! We used inexpensive furring strips nailed to the wall, which matched up perfectly with the existing trim. A little paint and some gold plug-in wall sconces and this space felt brand new!

A white and grey color palette was chosen to take advantage of the natural light. The grey porcelain tiles resemble a natural slate feel.

'His' side of the master bath provides ample storage for grooming supplies, towels and other supplies. Custom cabinetry takes advantage of space all the way to the ceiling for less frequently used items.
