A 450 sqft Intimate Retreat with Sculptural Calm Nestled in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, this 450 sqft bedroom and master bathroom project offers a quiet, introspective escape from the vibrant urban rhythm outside. Designed by Henne Creative in 2025, the space brings together rich textures, tonal harmony, and a sculptural approach to interior design. A warm palette of dark walnut wood, deep green marble, and soft neutral textiles creates an enveloping atmosphere of calm and intimacy. The bedroom is anchored by custom green stone benches that flow seamlessly into side tables and shelving, providing both function and material continuity. Subtle art elements, low lighting, and curated decor bring a tactile serenity to the space. The master bathroom is concealed behind elegant wooden slats, revealing a space lined with warm ceramic tiles and minimal, monolithic elements. Every material and form was selected to emphasize stillness and flow from the fluted wood detailing to the seamless transitions between surfaces. With city views softened by natural drapery, Downtown LA Refuge stands as a study in controlled contrast: raw and refined, bold and quiet a space designed not just to rest, but to reset.

This old 1920's home is thought to be an original George Washington Smith home, has now been updated and extended by Architect Bob Easton of Santa Barbara. Arched walls over stairs, plaster fireplaces, and very simple, comfortable design make for a very livable home for this family with multiple pets. Leather sofas for an easy feel, over antique hand knotted rugs and old world furniture show off this old Spanish home in the Ojai Valley. The Designers used periwinkle colored windows and doors to play off the black iron windows, and real Malibu tile with white marble tile surrounds around a blue granite kitchen island. The living room ceiling is completely original, and is the inspiration for the new exposed beam master suite ceilings. All the lighting is custom wrought iron fixtures, made especially for this home. A powder room features deep blue tiles and Malibu tile wainscot, the paintings are all of simple early California scenes which all make for an earthy, simple old time style, Project Location: Ojai, California. Ivory plaster walls glow in this elegant Italian Country inspired living room. Blue and ivory damask throw pillows accent the overstuffed sofa covered in an ultra-plush sandy hued chenille. The swivel chair upholstered in an aqua blue texture echoes the tones of the throw pillows. In the arched niche behind the sofa hangs a traditional landscape painting which is flanked by a pair of distressed blue wood baluster lamps. The bronze and glass cocktail table stands on an elegant Oushak rug in soft neutral tones. A honey stained and heavily paneled door leads the way into the master bedroom.
