This once dated master suite is now a bright and eclectic space with influence from the homeowners travels abroad. We transformed their overly large bathroom with dysfunctional square footage into cohesive space meant for luxury. We created a large open, walk in shower adorned by a leathered stone slab. The new master closet is adorned with warmth from bird wallpaper and a robin's egg blue chest. We were able to create another bedroom from the excess space in the redesign. The frosted glass french doors, blue walls and special wall paper tie into the feel of the home. In the bathroom, the Bain Ultra freestanding tub below is the focal point of this new space. We mixed metals throughout the space that just work to add detail and unique touches throughout. Design by Hatfield Builders & Remodelers | Photography by Versatile Imaging

Tucked just beyond the master bedroom, this adjoining sitting room offers a striking contrast—rich, intimate, and deeply grounding. Wrapped in a sophisticated medium-stained wood, the floors, vaulted ceiling, walls, and even the window trim and grids create a beautifully saturated envelope that immediately sets a more relaxed, retreat-like tone. The depth of the wood tones transforms the space into a true sanctuary—an ideal place to center yourself before the day begins or unwind as it comes to a close. Expansive windows keep the room from feeling heavy, inviting in natural light while still allowing the richness of the materials to take the lead. Rustic-inspired sconces flank the windows, casting a soft, ambient glow that enhances the warmth of the wood and adds to the cozy, enveloping atmosphere. Thoughtfully designed and perfectly balanced, this sitting room feels like a quiet escape just steps away from the openness of the master suite.

This stunning master bathroom started with a creative reconfiguration of space, but it’s the wall of shimmering blue dimensional tile that really makes this a “statement” bathroom.
The homeowners’, parents of two boys, wanted to add a master bedroom and bath onto the main floor of their classic mid-century home. Their objective was to be close to their kids’ rooms, but still have a quiet and private retreat.
To obtain space for the master suite, the construction was designed to add onto the rear of their home. This was done by expanding the interior footprint into their existing outside corner covered patio. To create a sizeable suite, we also utilized the current interior footprint of their existing laundry room, adjacent to the patio. The design also required rebuilding the exterior walls of the kitchen nook which was adjacent to the back porch. Our clients rounded out the updated rear home design by installing all new windows along the back wall of their living and dining rooms.
Once the structure was formed, our design team worked with the homeowners to fill in the space with luxurious elements to form their desired retreat with universal design in mind. The selections were intentional, mixing modern-day comfort and amenities with 1955 architecture.
The shower was planned to be accessible and easy to use at the couple ages in place. Features include a curb-less, walk-in shower with a wide shower door. We also installed two shower fixtures, a handheld unit and showerhead.
To brighten the room without sacrificing privacy, a clearstory window was installed high in the shower and the room is topped off with a skylight.
For ultimate comfort, heated floors were installed below the silvery gray wood-plank floor tiles which run throughout the entire room and into the shower! Additional features include custom cabinetry in rich walnut with horizontal grain and white quartz countertops. In the shower, oversized white subway tiles surround a mermaid-like soft-blue tile niche, and at the vanity the mirrors are surrounded by boomerang-shaped ultra-glossy marine blue tiles. These create a dramatic focal point. Serene and spectacular.

The Holloway blends the recent revival of mid-century aesthetics with the timelessness of a country farmhouse. Each façade features playfully arranged windows tucked under steeply pitched gables. Natural wood lapped siding emphasizes this homes more modern elements, while classic white board & batten covers the core of this house. A rustic stone water table wraps around the base and contours down into the rear view-out terrace.
Inside, a wide hallway connects the foyer to the den and living spaces through smooth case-less openings. Featuring a grey stone fireplace, tall windows, and vaulted wood ceiling, the living room bridges between the kitchen and den. The kitchen picks up some mid-century through the use of flat-faced upper and lower cabinets with chrome pulls. Richly toned wood chairs and table cap off the dining room, which is surrounded by windows on three sides. The grand staircase, to the left, is viewable from the outside through a set of giant casement windows on the upper landing. A spacious master suite is situated off of this upper landing. Featuring separate closets, a tiled bath with tub and shower, this suite has a perfect view out to the rear yard through the bedroom's rear windows. All the way upstairs, and to the right of the staircase, is four separate bedrooms. Downstairs, under the master suite, is a gymnasium. This gymnasium is connected to the outdoors through an overhead door and is perfect for athletic activities or storing a boat during cold months. The lower level also features a living room with a view out windows and a private guest suite.

As if chocolate wasn't luxurious enough on its own, this Worthington, Ohio, bathroom remodel makes it even more luxurious. The rich color of Kraftmaid's Northwicke style cabinets in cherry peppercorn add an extra decadence to this bathroom remodel. The countertops are Giallo Boreal granite. The porcelain tile for the shower, from Hamilton Parker Company, is Emil Anthology Velvet Marble - 12x12 in the shower and 12x24 for the floor.

A classic, elegant master suite for the husband and wife, and a fun, sophisticated entertainment space for their family -- it was a dream project!
To turn the master suite into a luxury retreat for two young executives, we mixed rich textures with a playful, yet regal color palette of purples, grays, yellows and ivories.
For fun family gatherings, where both children and adults are encouraged to play, I envisioned a handsome billiard room and bar, inspired by the husband’s favorite pub.

We reconfigured the space, moving the door to the toilet room behind the vanity which offered more storage at the vanity area and gave the toilet room more privacy. If the linen towers each vanity sink has their own pullout hamper for dirty laundry. Its bright but the dramatic green tile offers a rich element to the room

This custom farmhouse-style master bedroom is a serene retreat, thoughtfully layered with architectural detail and soft, balanced tones. Vaulted ceilings soaring nearly 15 feet high create an airy, expansive feel, naturally drawing the eye upward to a stunning beaded chandelier in an Ocean Mist finish—a subtle blue-gray that introduces both texture and a calming, cool-toned elegance. Walls painted in Sherwin Williams Argos provide the perfect neutral backdrop, offering a balanced gray that enhances the room’s light and openness. Adding to the charm, a pair of barn doors with a diamond molding design lead to an adjoining sitting room, bringing character and a touch of craftsmanship to the space. To soften the overall palette, the interior windows and barn doors are finished in Sherwin Williams Alabaster, creating a crisp yet inviting contrast. The windows themselves feature a single vertical grid in each unit—a thoughtful detail that blends modern simplicity with traditional charm, adding visual interest without overwhelming the design. Grounding the entire space, rustic medium-stained hardwood floors bring warmth and richness, anchoring the light and airy elements above. The result is a beautifully cohesive master suite that feels both elevated and effortlessly comfortable.

The Sonoma Farmhaus project was designed for a cycling enthusiast with a globally demanding professional career, who wanted to create a place that could serve as both a retreat of solitude and a hub for gathering with friends and family. Located within the town of Graton, California, the site was chosen not only to be close to a small town and its community, but also to be within cycling distance to the picturesque, coastal Sonoma County landscape.
Taking the traditional forms of farmhouse, and their notions of sustenance and community, as inspiration, the project comprises an assemblage of two forms - a Main House and a Guest House with Bike Barn - joined in the middle by a central outdoor gathering space anchored by a fireplace. The vision was to create something consciously restrained and one with the ground on which it stands. Simplicity, clear detailing, and an innate understanding of how things go together were all central themes behind the design. Solid walls of rammed earth blocks, fabricated from soils excavated from the site, bookend each of the structures.
According to the owner, the use of simple, yet rich materials and textures...“provides a humanness I’ve not known or felt in any living venue I’ve stayed, Farmhaus is an icon of sustenance for me".

In this Lake Forest master bathroom remodel, elegance meets functionality in a design that feels as though it has always belonged to the home. The centerpiece is a stunning glass-enclosed walk-in shower, featuring floor-to-ceiling marble tile accented with a custom mosaic inlay. The marble continues onto the vanity countertop, creating a harmonious flow throughout the space. Every detail — from the polished chrome fixtures to the beveled glass mirrors — was chosen to reflect a timeless sophistication while incorporating the conveniences of modern living.
The double vanity offers generous storage with rich espresso cabinetry, bringing warmth and contrast against the cooler marble tones. Above, crystal-accented sconces and a delicate chandelier cast a flattering light, making daily routines feel like a moment of indulgence. The blend of soft, neutral walls with crisp white trim frames the space beautifully, allowing the finishes to take center stage without overwhelming the senses.
This remodel was designed not only for beauty but also for enduring quality. Materials were selected for their resilience as well as their aesthetics, ensuring that the bathroom will remain a serene and luxurious retreat for years to come. Every element — from the tile pattern to the placement of each fixture — was thoughtfully considered to enhance flow, maximize natural light, and create a sense of spa-like tranquility. This is more than just a bathroom; it's a personal sanctuary where style and comfort live side by side.

This master bathroom was remodeled with the help of Inset Crystal cabinets. A long double vanity cabinet was created along with a large linen closet to maximize the storage space. Cherry finished in a rich molasses gave this bath a craftsman flair. Complementing the cabinetry a brushed nickel was selected for the hardware and topped off with a crisp Lyra Silestone.
