This rural contemporary home was designed for a couple with two grown children not living with them. The couple wanted a clean contemporary plan with attention to nice materials and practical for their relaxing lifestyle with them, their visiting children and large dog. The designer was involved in the process from the beginning by drawing the house plans. The couple had some requests to fit their lifestyle. Central location for the former music teacher's grand piano Tall windows to take advantage of the views Bioethanol ventless fireplace feature instead of traditional fireplace Casual kitchen island seating instead of dining table Vinyl plank floors throughout add warmth and are pet friendly

Built in Breakfast nook. Seat top has a piano hinge to allow for storage. Homeowners also had a table made from the same countertop material in the rest of there kitchen and had cushions made from the same material that is on the chandelier at the top of the picture.

The new piano room addition was built to house the homeowner's baby grand piano. Floors are walnut. Custom cabinetry and mantel.

The room sequence is terminated by the library to the North. The entry hall is to the left of this view with recessed gilt columns the owners acquired in Syria. Panelization of the walls gave a rhythmic modulation to this large space and provided vignettes for the owner's collection of French art and antiques.
