Our RHS Show Gardens can be seen here. At the 2008 Tatton Park Show we received a Bronze Medal for “Suspended Thoughts”. A year later we received a coverted RHS Gold Medal for our garden “A Place For Waste”. The garden used waste products and recycled materials to create a unique sustainable garden that received much interest from the television and media. We returned to the show in 2011 creating a minimalist garden built using sustainable materials sourced locally, adding a Silver Gilt Medal to our growing list of awards.

In this garden design, the dune character is defining. The house and garden are bordering the dunes of Katwijk. The space is defined by a large architectural gesture: a prominent terrace made of grey stone. The position of the terrace is in no logical relation to the house, resulting in an apparently random arrangement that allows them to integrate into the capricious dune landscape. Through the large ground level windows, this modern home integrates seamlessly into the garden and into the general landscape. The long, twisted plane naturally guides the eyes towards the point where the sun sets. Ideal for the house’s dwellers who can take a break from their busy lives can spend their afternoons enjoying the sun. Next to the terrace, the water element and the concrete figurehead come together in a composition that doesn’t affect the expression of the lush vegetation. On the contrary, the greenery and the designed elements are in harmony, enhancing each other’s qualities. The key design driver for the project was to create a simple but contemporary extension that responded to the existing dramatic topography in the property’s rear garden. The concept was to provide a single elegant form, cantilevering out into the tree canopies and over the landscape. Conceived as a house within the tree canopies the extension is clad in sweet chestnut which enhances the relationship to the surrounding mature trees. Large sliding glass panels link the inside spaces to its unique environment. Internally the design successfully resolves the Client’s brief to provide an open plan and fluid layout, that subtly defines distinct living and dining areas. The scheme was completed in April 2016

Nature freely and deliberately creates through the time needed to form a piece of art — be it hundreds or thousands of years. Nature is slow, quiet, and humble. But when it’s done, its work is nothing but pure beauty.
