Inspiration for a large modern bedroom remodel in Toronto

After deciding on a queen-sized bed in vertical tilt, I turned to the storage issue. The bed and cabinet extend 18 inches from the wall, but I did not want to continue with that depth along the entire length of the wall unit for a couple of reasons. One was the living area to the far right of the wall. It would be more usable with a shallower configuration. In this new construction, the client wanted to maximize sleeping space for visiting family and her grandchildren's overnight visits. With the custom, built-in murphy bed, the sleek, stylish and functional home office converts to a guest room in a snap.

This built-in Murphy bed made with Cherry Wood folds down into a fully made twin bed. The bed cabinet is deep enough to contain the bed, the bedding and even allows this homeowner to hang art on the wall behind the bed to give the room a finished look for the guests.
