The back and front yard masonry design of this private residence in West Islip, NY provides functionality and accommodates all elements in its layout. This includes a U-shaped cooking island built with Nicolock adobe blend terra wall. It is covered with a PVC pergola for shade, a granite counter top, a wood burning oven, a gas grill refrigerator, an ice maker, a sink, and many storage cabinets. Backyard Masonry The patio is built raised two steps up from the grass area. The perimeter walls are built with Nicolock oyster blend mini-colonial walls and capped with granite city colonial caps. In many places, the walls are built up to create accent columns to hold the light fixtures and sitting walls. The fire pit area is built in a circular shape with a comfortable bench built within the walls. The patio is built with XL stone ridge adobe blend pavers and a double border design with granite city roma pavers. This patio area is large enough to accommodate many table. Frontyard Masonry Walkways on both side of the house are built to connect to the circular driveway Adobe blend stone ridge pavers are installed over 1 inch of sand and 8 inches of state approved grade recycled concrete base. The layout includes a double border design with circle fan inlays in the driveway aprons, 2 light piers installed on each side of the driveway, and aprons veneered with Boral cultured stone matching the house exterior walls. Bluestone caps and treads were used for the cumulus, front door steps, and porch.

The client wanted to transform the backyard into a space that would be perfect for relaxing or for entertaining friends and family. On the wishlist were a pool, an outdoor living space, and an outdoor kitchen. The design started by locating the vinyl liner, rectangular swimming pool (with auto cover) in the optimal location. From there, we designed an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven off the back of the house. Nearby, we included a cabana with bar seating, a TV, and a bathroom. All of this is on a Nicolock Alpine Ridge Granite City blend paver patio. To work with the existing slope of the property, we designed and installed a raised patio on one side of the pool; the perfect spot for lounging poolside. Lush plantings were installed to create multi-seasonal interest throughout the backyard and pool area.

Backyard designed by Giuseppe Abbrancati and installed by Gappsi in Melville, Long Island NY. The free formed vinyl lined swimming pool was built with a 5 ft deep end to accommodate a twist slide. The pool patio and raised patio were paved with Nicolock stone ridge oyster blend and inlays of tumbled borders with 8'x12' charcoal bullnose coping. An outdoor kitchen and bar set up were built under a pavilion, and the waterfall and fireplace area was also built with Nicolock mini-colonial wall system.

This 16’x32' freeform gunite swimming pool custom constructed in Massapequa NY. The pool shell consists of 10" concrete walls and an 8" concrete floor. The pool was shot with gunite cement, over 6" of over sized gravel base, 12 inches on center, 1/2” rebar metal cage and 6" apart center rods in any areas that the pool is deeper than 48”. All plumbing is done with 2" hard PVC schedule 40 piping. All of the equipment is Hayward including 400,000 BTU gas heater, a salt chlorine generator, ozone system, pumps, and cartridge filter. The pool is 46" to 66" deep which makes it a non-diving pool. In the deep end of the pool, there is a bench with special jets through which air and water are pushed at a higher speed to create a spa effect. Porcelain pool tiles were installed at the water line; the finish of the pool is cool blue diamond bright quartz. The steps and benches were highlighted with diamond shaped 2”x2” tiles. The coping patio and raised patio wall were created with Nicolock products. 6”x12" bullnose, ridge stone patio pavers with brown inlays and mini colonial walls and caps are all in travertine color. This outdoor living area helped our customer unite the magnificent indoors with their outdoors. There was an original builders cement patio and old rotting picket fence dividing the yard. We were able to design a functional entertainers paradise and give this yard a complete makeover. We helped them gain full functionality while be able to entertain guests for many years to come. The project Features Nicolock paving stone Stone Ridge XL collection for the patio in South bay Blend. The Kitchen and Bar area are also built out of Nicolock in the same South Bay blend. The landscape was spruced up with some planting enhancements, soil amendments and black mulch flower beds.
