Inspiration for a large contemporary wine cellar remodel in Dallas

Split Level 1970 home of a young and active family of four. The main public spaces in this home were remodeled to create a fresh, clean look. The Jack + Mare demo'd the kitchen and dining room down to studs and removed the wall between the kitchen/dining and living room to create an open concept space with a clean and fresh new kitchen and dining with ample storage. Now the family can all be together and enjoy one another's company even if mom or dad is busy in the kitchen prepping the next meal. The custom white cabinets and the blue accent island (and walls) really give a nice clean and fun feel to the space. The island has a gorgeous local solid slab of wood on top. A local artisan salvaged and milled up the big leaf maple for this project. In fact, the tree was from the University of Portland's campus located right where the client once rode the bus to school when she was a child. So it's an extra special custom piece! (fun fact: there is a bullet lodged in the wood that is visible...we estimate it was shot into the tree 30-35 years ago!) The 'public' spaces were given a brand new waterproof luxury vinyl wide plank tile. Working on this beautiful Los Altos residence has been a wonderful opportunity for our team. Located in an upscale neighborhood young owner’s of this house wanted to upgrade the whole house design which included major kitchen and master bathroom remodel. The combination of a simple white cabinetry with the clean lined wood, contemporary countertops and glass tile create a perfect modern style which is what customers were looking for.

A new stainless-steel gas stove was installed with a beautiful wood hood vent. Dave included a large appliance garage and a built-in microwave above the new peninsula. All the cabinets were extended to the ceiling with adjustable shelving inside for convenient storage. Below the peninsula are deep under-counter drawers, along with convenient stacked utensil drawers beside the stove. This set up is a great example of optimizing space in a small kitchen! We got the chance to sit down and talk with Janet about her experience working with Advance Design on so many different areas of her home. From the oversized glass sliding door to the recessed niche for accessories, each special detail was considered and implemented intentionally so as to create the maximumly optimized use of the compact space. Not only was this transformation one of beauty and luxury, but special attention was given to every way possible to provide additional storage to maximize the functionality of the bath area as a whole. Once design was complete and the bath construction project began in their home, making sure everything happened efficiently and on schedule became new priority number one. “Having a project manager made an enormous difference,” Janet said, “It was so worth it to hire professionals that knew exactly what they were doing. A fun vibrant project for an amazing family in Fort Worth. The brief was to create a bright and cohesive color scheme for the whole house for a young family of 5. Attention to detail, traffic patterns and the optimal use of space were all taken into consideration here. The end result was a gorgeous home that could be enjoyed by all members of the family and also by their guests when entertaining.
