Our client originally came across this pattern as a fabric, which she used in her living room as throw pillows. She loved it so much, she decided to order it as a wallpaper for us to install in her foyer. The untrimmed edges of the material were no problem for our experienced installers. Functionality was the keyword for this homeowner and gourmet chef who has a 300 sqft organic garden in the backyard. On first look you walked into the before kitchen thinking, "how cute" but the more you saw the more dysfunctional it really was. The original floor was outdoor patio limestone flagstone unsealed! It was impossible to actually clean. All the upper cabinets had a short drawer at the bottom of them, which took up valuable real estate and would open up right at your nose. And the biggest problem for the homeowners was trying to bring in her fresh garden produce, she would have to exit the kitchen walk around through the office into the laundry room and out the back door. By opening the right corner of the kitchen near the sink through to the laundry room she could have kitchen access directly into the kitchen.

Leuders limestone, perma-columns, stained pine ceiling, and salt finished and scored pattern concrete were utilized to create a well detailed addition to this home. The existing roof produced a particular challenge but every consideration was taken to ensure the addition blended with the existing house to appear as though it was original. Structural connections were utilized due to the recent concerns of high winds in the Texas climate. The architecture of the Karoo Wilderness Center is a result of a thorough process of investigation into the origins and character of the Karoo landscape and the flora and fauna that result from its particular qualities. The tectonic events that produced the specific topography of the site, trajectories of water runoff, wind movement, soil composition, and effects of plant and animal species on the landscape have converged to create the conditions of the site chosen for the Center. Each of these factors have in turn been subject to the impact of human inhabitation and vernacular building practices, amplified in recent generations to a harmful degree by shortsighted agricultural strategies and their associated effects of overgrazing, water over-manipulation and erosion. Fundamental to the architectural response is the premise that the human species is an inherent part of the conditions that comprise and affect the landscape. The significance of the Center, enhanced and informed by the activities that occur within and as an extension of it, lies in the co-dependence of the Center and the ecosystem as inherently bound entities. The architecture of the Center is intended to make evident the natural processes of the Karoo and establish a new precedent for building within and through an ecosystem defined by dynamic flux.

This luxury private members’ club bar and lounge interior was originally designed by The L&C Company, based in Surrey. The client then commissioned Clémaron to develop and built the bar and lounge based on these designs. With our commitment to exceptional quality and attention to detail, we brought the final design to life with materials sourced specifically for the project. Our cabinetmakers are expert at handcrafting fitted cabinetry with a superior finish and exquisite embellishments. The resulting furniture exudes style and sophistication with custom mirrors, beautiful display shelving and lighting. The countertops are made from a classic black quartz stone from local Surrey firm Elliott Stone Works. The hand finished double ogee waterfall edge looks stunning. Handcrafted in oak wood, the bar front has a matt chic blue-grey finish with enhanced elegant, raised beading and an antique brass heavy duty foot rail. The back bar furniture features a stainless-steel sink, drainer, storage and undercounter appliances. A smaller two-stool bar console table has a clear 6mm safety glass countertop which is easy to maintain and adds reflective sparkle. The TV screen on the wall has been framed and hand painted to match in Farrow & Ball Blackened with brass inlaid strips hand finished with an antique patina. The built-in back bar and drinks unit combines display shelving and lower storage cupboards and drawers with matt black bar handles. The black quartz stonework under the central mirror is stepped to display bottles and backlit with recessed LED lights. The top cornice is also stepped to match. The unit’s antiqued mirror glass was produced by Rough Old Glass and installed by our cabinetmakers. All the mirrors are framed in real oak richly imbued with a warm cognac brown stain to enhance the grain.
