This horse barn conversion was Joyce Cole’s dream. It represented her vision to create a cozy home and office as close as possible to her beloved horses. Old Saratoga Restorations completed the conversion in the middle of winter, repouring the concrete floor, repairing the roof and rotted beam foundation, replacing windows and using reclaimed oak and hemlock beams from the barn to create a staircase. Resawn beams were used for stair treads, shelves, railings and cabinets. The barn’s innovative touches include plate glass viewing windows into the horse stalls from the kitchen and the mudroom. OSR also created a custom mahogany door, utility room, new high-end kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a stable room and a mudroom with a Dutch door.

This beautiful cedar gate was built using Coastal Bronze's Bronze Gate Hardware. 20-330 Bronze Band Hinges with Bronze Pintles (20-250). They have a lockable barrel bolt (80-200) for security, with a 40-300 Bronze Thumb Latch and a Bronze Drop Bar (50-100) for opening and closing, with a Bronze Gate Stop (50-250) to prevent gate damaging the hardware. And last but not least a Bronze Cane Bolt (80-100) to keep the gate closed during weather and to prevent unauthorized opening. Our firm designed a new living room space out of a tired and partially finished attic room. The walls were completely redone and painted. Floors were carpeted and new lighting added. The space was painted yellow and furnished with a Victorian flavor. This hardware was salvaged from an older home and reused on this door.

Long thick mesquite is rare so a 9' tall solid mesquite door is special. Constructed using all wide boards the door looks deceptively simple.
