Ignacio Salas-Humara Architect LLCSite Plan. A series of freestanding walls are set within the wooded site. The front of the house is itself one of the walls. The walls curate the visitor's procession from the street to the living room. The house is set far back from the street and is hidden within the live oaks and juniper that inhabit the site. As one enters the site on the crushed granite driveway the house is still invisible. Visitors park against a long wall that defines the parking area and screens the well house, water cistern, and propane tank. It guides the visitor toward an opening between walls that leads to a clearing in front of the house.

The Green Room Landscape ArchitectureThe charm and style of this historic Spanish colonial home in Paradise Valley radiates through the base of the Camelback Mountain. Old growth olive and specimen Ironwoods frame the home as grass areas provide a visual transition from garden to a sun-drenched desert adaptive plant palette. The garden spaces transform from season to season due to the fields of perennials and wildflowers. Unusual succulents and cacti sets the tone for this picturesque, evolving private botanical garden.

UserThis is the view from the homeowners' dining room window. Some privacy to the neighbouring property was desirable, but the "wall" effect of a hedge was to be avoided. Three Pacific Fire Maples (Acer circinatum 'Pacific Fire') were selected as the tree canopy would provide sufficient privacy and the very colourful bark would be visually stunning through the fall and winter.

Mammoth ProjectsThis 1 bed, 2 bath duplex with a home office, and garden, needed a full renovation. Tasked with creating a space that was both rustic, and minimalist, we sought to use simple and classic materials, in their most natural form.
Oil-stained, knotted oak was installed on the garden level, leading to the master bed and through the home office.

No Fault Sport GroupNo Fault recently had the pleasure of completing Tirrill Park Playground Project, or what is affectionately called the “Rawrrr with Colton Playground.” Located in Manchester, Iowa, this park, dedicated to the memory of an area child, Colton Meyer, whose life was sadly cut short, serves as a beautiful memorial. Inlaid dinosaurs and dinosaur footprints give a nod to Colton’s favorite animal. We’re honored to have taken part in this project and are thankful to have had the chance to team up with Boland Recreation for another great playground design.
