This is the before shot. Faded and peeling paint led to a dramatic facelift of this 1935 Cape Cod. This front door is lackluster and the scale is not quite right for the front of the house.

Bedroom two of downstairs unit. Personal custom art throughout. Most frames are made from wood sourced from a beach house in Fernandina Beach, FL. Curtains are drop cloths draped over black rods. Headboard is old door sourced from Rabun County which I lightly sanded to remove peeling paint, GA. Black distressed dresser and mirror sourced from neighbor for $50. Free standing mirror found in Rabun County, GA. Interior shutters were salvaged from exterior of house.

AFTER: This Millard home's exterior not only looks great, but is also ready the weather the summer sun and the winds and cold of winter. Prepwork includes scraping away loose and peeling paint, sanding surfaces smooth, and sealing gaps and cracks with new caulk to prevent moisture and drafts from getting in.

Initially just a bedroom with closet on this 1/2 floor sleeping level, we shortened up the bedroom a bit and added an ensuite that may be compact, but versatile and boasts a naturally lit shower from the sun tunnel above.

Having admired other refurbished front doors in her neighborhood of 115 year old Victorians, this homeowner started her front porch renovation by having this front entry door returned to its natural glory. It had been buried under layers of cracked and peeling paint. The project included restoring the lock, polishing the brass, and replacing the hinges and sweep.
