They already purchased a large sectional to watch their over-sized theater screen and a pool table. Their goal was to make the room as dark during the day as it was at night for optimal TV viewing. What started out as a masculine color scheme warped into a Seattle Seahawks color scheme. This worked perfectly, since Brandon is a professional football player and previously played for the Seahawks as a member of the Legion of Boom. He requested his jersey and teammate’s jerseys be professionally framed so we could display them. I had custom black-out window coverings made and installed high to block the daylight. A custom cabinet in a slate-blue finish was made to house all the audio equipment. I had the pool table re-felt in a grey to coordinate with the room’s decor. The walls were painted Benjamin Moore Pewter and all trim received a fresh coat of Cloud Cover. The finishing touch to block out the light was a large, custom sliding door I had made to separate this room from the family room. Architects/Designers: Patricia Cinque & Glen Tilkin Geometric accents and touches of sunny yellow make this space come alive. This is a formal living room made for conversation or to listen to the piano player (no TV in this room). The focal point is the yellow wool Greek key Dhurrie rug. Geometric sculptures and glass orbs also make a statement. Equestrian accents can be found in the horse picture and sculpture, as well as the brown leather chair. A corduroy couch, velvet & leather side chairs, silk curtains, and cashmere & sheepskin pillows are all soft to the touch and add rich texture to the room. The tall pieces (yellow flowers & victrola) are balanced by another tall piece next to the front door. The tall plant next to the front door creates a little entryway. The best part of this room is the budget. All furniture and accessories were purchased for approximately $4,000. To accomplish this, most were obtained at store outlets, on clearance, or as floor models. Wallpaper removal, painting & wood floor refinishing were an additional $1,000. The front door will be replaced soon! Also, the wall behind the horse photo may be opened up to the attic stair in the future. Kathryn has turned an ordinary two car driveway into great play area for the family by installing the Pro Dunk Silver basketball system. 20 feet deep and 30 feet wide is a common driveway size perfect for some three on three pickup games or practicing your jump shot. I might recommend the Gold system if your have more demanding players as you will see an increase in performance and will be able to take advantage of the wider 60 inch backboard by getting more bank shots from the wings. Mike's attached pictures of his "basketball themed" half court were taken in the front yard of his residence in Columbus, Ohio. The dimensions of the high school sized half court are 44 feet wide and 30 feet deep. It includes a home and away bench, player drinking fountain, night light and drench drain. All done in local high school colors, black and gold. Landscaping is not completely done yet. This is a Hercules Platinum Basketball System that was purchased in June of 2012. It was installed on a 44 ft wide by a 30 ft deep playing area in Columbus, OH. Home design - mid-sized transitional home design idea in Toronto

This 3,300 sqft building serves as a spectator pavilion for the new recreation fields in Florence, Massachusetts. Prior to the town purchasing the land for public recreation, the fields had been farmland for over a century. The form of the pavilion references the agricultural history of the site, as well as the outdoor nature of the program, by taking a modern approach to a classic New England barn. The pavilion provides a strong, quiet backdrop for the activity on the fields, and offers shelter and seating for the players and spectators gathered there. Strung between each pier is a built-in bench, providing spectator seating, and—on the side facing the parking lot—seating for those waiting to be picked up. Spatially, the building explores the ability of modular forms to read as both solid and void. http://www.jsphoto.com/
