The 25 cm broad armrest gives a balanced finish and also lifts the sofa which seems to float freely in the air on its legs of black-stained wood that are only a few centimetres high.
You can choose your cover from Eilersen's large fabric collection. The cover is removable and fitted with velcro so you can easily take it off and clean it (follow the care and maintenance instructions of the fabric). Under the cover, the sofa is further protected by a base cover in 100% cotton.

Before the Swan Chair (1958), Arne Jacobsen’s architecture and designs were shaped by an assumption of materials’ natural ways of resisting. In other words, he could make them go only so far in becoming the structures he desired. With new technologies, however, the old rules no longer applied, and he was able to shape fluid curves and single-piece molded shells. The Swan Chair is now made from polyurethane foam, but at the time, Jacobsen used Styropore® to create its continuous shape. Designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen was the architect, the chair permitted guests to spin on its swivel base, thus becoming active participants in the busy hotel atmosphere.
mike_bpnaOur family room / home theater measures 22 x 20. It features custom inset door face frame cabinetry storage made on site by the homeowner. All cabinetry and paneling were painted with 3 coats of Target Coatings base white followed by 3 coats of Target Coatings water base polyurethane to give a hard wearing surface. Home theater includes Paradigm Reference speakers, Samsung television and Pioneer Elite components. My only regret is not putting radiant heat under the tile. It would have helped regulate the temperature better in the winter months.
