It was in 2012 when Mike Spreckelmeier first met Roy and Patti. They had been despondent after meeting with multiple contractors in an attempt to start their kitchen remodel. The contractors lacked follow through, came tardy to meetings and even failed to show up at others. Determined to leave nothing to chance in the pursuit of their dream, Roy and Patti followed up on a recommendation after overhearing a conversation that was taking place while they were standing in a gallingly long line waiting to cast a vote on Election Day. With a solid recommendation to pursue, Roy and Patti contacted Progressive Design Build. The rest is history. Mike showed up on time. For a small retainer, he provided preliminary sketches, ideas for maximizing space and storage, and solutions for a sunken family room that created a safety hazard and a problem with traffic flow. More importantly, he designed the project to the homeowners’ budget. Progressive Design Build shot some different elevations and designed a plan to raise the floor, allowing all finished floors to be on the same level. Upon completion, the kitchen was stunning. Features included LED backlit fire glass shelving, white recessed panel cabinets, a subway tile backsplash, Granite countertop, integrated refrigerator, undermount sink, and more. The living room was designed with complimentary finishes and included a natural stone fireplace wall with open cabinets flanked on both sides. The 12’ fireplace was made with a floor-to-ceiling white pebble finish. This Bonita Bay project completed on time and on budget—allowing this fabulous family a wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories for many years to come.

In the master bathroom, we expanded the closet by pushing the wall back into the adjacent pass-through hallway. The new walk-in closet now includes an impressive closet organization system.

Progressive Design Build was determined to provide this family with a special place that fits their unique lifestyle, complete with an authentic looking Tiki Bar. And, who wouldn’t want this perfect, instant escape on their own lanai? We created this bar to look like it was a permanent piece of furniture, but it is actually entirely removable! This custom outdoor Tiki Bar was built using Cypress wood in a dark walnut stain. Aesthetically defined by tiki culture décor, the interiors and exteriors were also built with bamboo and real palm thatch. Functionally, this bar is fully powered with built-in electrical and also includes an under-counter mini refrigerator to keep drinks cold and flowing.

Progressive Design Build eliminated a partition wall between the kitchen and living room, which instantly opened up the space. The dark, dated cabinets were replaced with beautiful white Dura Supreme shaker-style cabinetry. Custom refrigerator panels were used to create a sleek, streamlined design. The new oversized island now seats four and was topped with elegant Quartz. The backsplash was designed with a subway-style glass tile in shades of blue, creating a lovely coastal feel.

In the heart of the desirable neighborhood of Bonita Bay, these condo owners were ready to remodel their entire home with sophisticated custom cabinetry, elegant finishes, and high-end appliances. They contacted the design-build professionals at Progressive Design Build to come up with a design plan that worked within their budget. As is often the case with condo remodels in Southwest Florida, we also needed to fulfill our client’s needs by renovating within the home’s existing footprint.

The cabinets were transformed from a dark, dated brown stain to a fresh, lighter white painted cabinet, and topped with beautiful quartzite countertops. The once raised bar top was changed to a one-level counter, opening up space, and allowed us to provide a much needed, functional prep space for Katie to sit comfortably in the center island. Progressive transformed the existing desk area to a full height base of cabinets, providing ample storage—a luxury this couple didn’t have in their old kitchen. And, Katie’s favorite part of the whole remodel? The fabulous wide built-in pantry with useful hanging racks on the doors.

Our clients desperately needed a new master bathroom that had a better function, flow and aesthetic. Incorporating all of the family’s needs and desires, Progressive Design Build designed a new layout that accomplished all of their goals. We started by removing the large Jacuzzi tub and tub deck and moving the vanity to the old shower location, making room for a new walk-in shower and heated towel bar that the owners wanted. During demolition, a unique challenge presented itself. We found a vent pipe in the middle of the new vanity cabinet location, which wasn’t part of the original building drawings. Due to its location in a high-rise condo, which also serviced some of the floors below, we couldn’t move the pipe very far. Through creative planning meetings and design, as well as innovative cabinetry solutions, we were able to work around the pipe. The finishes on the project were much more contemporary giving the new master bathroom a subtle sophistication and understated elegance. The cabinets were designed with straight, simple lines and they were custom built with a deep, rich brown finish. The richness of the dark cabinetry juxtaposed with the elegance of the white porcelain tile floor and white Quartzite countertop, contributed to the room’s sophistication and the modern look that the clients desired. In the end, all project goals were achieved!

The goal for this husband and wife team was to create a functional home for their family. Because they love to entertain, they wanted to see how they could accommodate guests and extended family—improving the layout and functionality of their Bonita Bay home of more than eight years. Having worked with remodeling contractors in the past, they were reluctant to proceed. After six months (two months finalizing the design and budget, and four months to build), this project finished on time and on budget and resulted in a beautiful outdoor living space that consisted of a massive outdoor kitchen with a separate dining area and sitting area, 20-foot tall vaulted ceilings, a beautiful glass fireplace and cost stone balustrades. It was finished with cast stone columns, huge stucco arches, a high tech lighting system and porcelain tile floors.

These Bonita Springs homeowners were looking to update their master bathroom with a more modern, transitional design as well as building in better storage and more efficient lighting. Progressive Design Build accomplished this by adding a curbless, walk-in shower with a half-inch clear glass partition, separating it from the new under mount tub and Quartz tub deck. White Dura Supreme cabinetry was paired with Quartz countertops, and two towers were added for additional storage. A honed marble accent band was used throughout the room to tie it all together along with new sconce lighting and sleek undercabinet lower lighting for ambiance.

When a Historic District home was renovated in Fort Myers, a dream kitchen was created: open plan enough for gathering, with clearly delineated areas for cooking, reading and entertaining. Challenge Bill and Alison’s existing kitchen was small and dysfunctional. Each room seemed independent, and there was no flow through the house. The house felt small, with one entry and exit point. As a planning consultant, Bill was no stranger to construction. He was a general contractor himself and had built several custom homes in years past. As a gardening enthusiast and professional educator, Alison also had an eye for design. They started with design, layout and planning on their own, but soon realized they needed help. After interviewing several contractors who seemed overwhelmed and unenthused by their project, they reached out to Progressive Design Build. Within a few short weeks he was hired to begin the planning phase, conducting thorough research on the project, meeting key subcontractors and establishing a realistic budget. When the project began, internal walls were removed to open up the kitchen/dining areas and an island was built, giving the space an open and modern functionality. The eating area was enlarged, and a visual connection to the outside was established using Marvin insulated glass windows with Low E coatings—which rejects solar heat gain without reducing visible light passing through the glass. In order to allow for the open concept layout that Bill and Alison desired, we built new structural beams to transfer the live load. The sliding patio doors opened onto a small terrace with a wrought iron handrail creating access to the private courtyard and garden area. Finishing details included custom cherry cabinets and wood trimming, 16” x 32” natural stone flooring, granite countertops and historically correct plaster finishes. Result The project was completed within budget and two weeks ahead of schedule. “That planning phase was the best money we spent on the project,” exclaimed Bill. “It was incredibly gratifying being able to watch the subcontractors and suppliers come and go with shared leadership and attention to details.”

With a kitchen that felt small, cramped and uninviting, our Naples client wanted to remove the bulky island range hood that blocked the view of her living room. Solving this issue, Progressive Design Build installed a white Zephyr Lux hood that was flush with the soffit to open up the space. Adding visual interest and functional use, two modern glass pendants were installed on either side of the range hood above the two-tier bartop. We also added open shelving to the right of the oven with a custom built-in coffee station below. For functional storage, a pantry was designed into the space with roll-out shelving. Additional features of this kitchen remodel included Dura Supreme kitchen cabinets, a 3×6 Tesoro Flower Glass subway tile backsplash, and Pompeii Milky Way Quartz countertops. Last but not least, this kitchen received all new high-end appliances including a plumbed combi-steam oven by Miele and a matching oven and an induction cooktop.
