Sturdy awning systems allow the awnings to be rolled up tightly when they are not needed and deployed easily with a remote control. Sun and wind sensors are also available to automatically deploy your retractable awning when the sun hits that side of the home or to retract an open awning with wind speeds exceed a certain threshold.

This St. Simons Island deck restoration involved much more than refinishing the visible surface.
The existing deck had areas of cracked decking, deteriorated structural components, sagging sections and worn finishes that needed to be corrected before a new coating could be applied. D&D Decorators handled the project from carpentry repair through final finish so the structural and cosmetic work could be completed as one coordinated scope.
Compromised decking and joist components were replaced where needed, steps were rebuilt, and sagging areas were corrected. The deck was then pressure washed and thoroughly prepared before coating. New cuts and replacement material were back-primed as part of the preparation process.
The restored deck received two coats of protective deck enamel, while the cedar seating was preserved with a clear sealer rather than being covered with an opaque coating. Hardware and other finishing details were also addressed while the structure was open and accessible.
The completed project retained the character of the existing marsh-view outdoor space while restoring the areas that actually needed repair. Rather than treating the deck as either a carpentry project or a painting project, the scope combined both disciplines to create a more complete restoration.
D&D Decorators provides deck repair, deck restoration, exterior carpentry, surface preparation and professional coating services throughout St. Simons Island, Sea Island and the Golden Isles.

Exterior Painting: Ivory accent trim paint draws attention to the decorative doors on this tuck under garage. The beautiful front porch invites you right inside, doesn't it?

After four years of searching for the perfect spot, this avid golfer stumbled upon a unique solution - Azenco's R-Blade adjustable louvered roof pergola! This innovative structure was designed to provide both protection and accessibility for a high-tech golf simulator within an outdoor environment. It is also much more cost effective than renovating existing structures or building home additions costing upwards of $500K.

Exterior Painting: White exterior paint give this large two story home a very traditional look. The covered porch really gives this home an inviting feel, doesn't it?

The homeowners also wanted to ensure the new sun shade pergola would feel like an extension of the home’s colonial style, while allowing then to move from the indoor space to the patio without getting wet. With no externally visible hardware, the clean exterior lines of the Azenco R-Blade blended perfectly with the home’s traditional colonial stylings. To ensure complete all-weather rain protection, the design team overlapped the pergola roof with the home’s roofline to provide the same seamless feel as a pergola attached to the house. Covering this massive patio also meant the captured rain waters needed to be dispersed to keep the patio below dry. To accommodate the heavy anticipated flow, the hidden internal gutter system split runoff from the six pergola zones and deposited it in numerous surrounding planter beds.
