We created a guest room that multi-tasks as a den and home office. Sliding barn doors, with Asian-inspired hardware, blend with the Raspberry Pudding red wall and offer privacy for overnight guests. A contemporary Deco-style console adds another dimension while providing the perfect base for the television and extra storage space for overnight guests.

This breakfast room was designed around a collection of old white ironstone and jelly molds. The designer found the hanging pine shelves at a flea market and enhanced the piece with matching moldings. The dining chairs have tie-on cushions with tailored skirts that can be removed for cleaning. Client had a new stone patio installed which included some plants in new shade garden. We rearranged the plants for more color and a better rhythm. We added heuchera, 'Plum Pudding,' Japanese painted fern, hostas, and hydrangeas.

The design of this 5,000 square foot house was born of a tragic fire that destroyed the bulk of the house. Only the side flanking wings were able to be saved. The main body of the house was and garage were all reconsidered in their design. The result is a hybrid log/conventional construction assembly that looks nothing like the kit house that once stood between the two ends. The new work maintains the owner’s desire for a rustic aesthetic and utilizes massing, scale and rhythm more appropriate to the environment, the owner’s intended uses and character. A rich blend of stone, log, and cedar shingles make for a design palette that is both rustic and refined at the same moment. The house employs both geothermal and solar applications. The geothermal assembly is located in an adjacent field and together with the solar panel system offer little or no electrical load needed from the Grid to either heat or light the building. The owner enjoys a consistent selling of electricity to the PUD proving that large well detailed wood buildings can successfully deliver on thermal performance and timeless aesthetic character. Their history extends back to the late 1600s, any time a French physicist created way to use internal steam pressure to speed up water’s boiling point, ultimately causing foods being cooked more rapidly. Pressure canning evolved from this early discovery, and packed food in sealed jars, then cooked all of them boiling water. As the method became widely used, larger “jars” were meant to accommodate both home and industrial cooking, for places like hotels and restaurants. The warm and wet, steamy environment of a pressure cooker produces precisely the same effects that long, slow braising would. Simon Hulstone uses that you cook duck legs in a half-hour while Alyn Williams cooks oxtail with reduced dark wine, beef stock and vegetables within this Beef and asparagus recipe for flavourful, flaky meat in a mere 40 minutes.Pressure cookers aren't just used for meat though; some recipes use pressure cookers for beans, risottos, poaching fruit or steaming puddings. Pressure cookers also come in a array of sizes, based on the number of people you might be wanting to feed, though keep in mind that you should only fill a pressure cooker 2 / 3 full for safety reasons. Most pressure cookers consist of at least 2 different pressure settings but electric varieties have numerous heating and timing systems, ideal for multi-stage cooking. The durability of the pressure cooker comes down towards the material it can be made of. Thick bases and metal are all signs of your good, long-lasting cooker that will aid you well over the years.
