The Petal House undertook an extensive alteration by renowned architect Eric Owen Moss in 1982. His vision was deconstructivist design. Our main focus was to stay true to the home's quirkiness. We kept the original blue and pink tiles that Mr. Moss installed years ago. The demolition of the space was very tedious. The tiles were non replaceable since they were from 1982 and Italian. We wanted to modernize and update the feel of this 20' x 5' space. We used white large profile 24"x 24" tiles for the floor and most of the shower, small white mosaic for the shower pan, and used a 6" x 6" tile that married the both sides together. We were able to reuse all her lighting and tp holders. We lowered the shower curb, raised the ceilings, and installed etched glass shower doors. We designed and installed custom vanities with a pure white quartz counters. We added new red faucets, and round red towel accessories. We love how it turned out. It is clean, modern, and we stayed true to the vision
