The Johnson-Thompson house is the oldest house in Winchester, MA, dating back to the early 1700s. The addition and renovation expanded the structure and added three full bathrooms including a spacious two-story master bathroom, as well as an additional bedroom for the daughter. The kitchen was moved and expanded into a large open concept kitchen and family room, creating additional mud-room and laundry space. But with all the new improvements, the original historic fabric and details remain. The moldings are copied from original pieces, salvaged bricks make up the kitchen backsplash. Wood from the barn was reclaimed to make sliding barn doors. The wood fireplace mantels were carefully restored and original beams are exposed throughout the house. Nightlighting makes this bar and TV area glow, with a secondary boost of glowing warmth from the firepit across the patio of stamped concrete. This amazing home features a backyard patio and pool area with a spectacular custom pool with many features including island which feature sitting areas and fire pit a spa as well as incredible slide which goes into the swimming pool. The pool measures roughly 2300 square feet, and has a deep end of 10'0". The spa is raised and has 12 therapy heads. There is LED colored lighting throughout the project. There is a 300 square foot zero depth beach entry into the pool with agitator jets to keep the water moving. There is also a sunshelf within the pool. The lazy river wraps around the sunken island, and the current in the lazy river is propelled by a commercial waterpark quality pumping system. The sunken island has lighting, a fire pit, and a bridge connecting it to the decking area. There is an infinity edge on one edge of the pool. The pool also has an in-floor cleaning system to keep it clean and sanitary. The swimming pool also has the ability to change colors at night utilizing the amazing LED lighting system. The pool and spa exposed aggregate finish is French Gray color. The slide that cascades down the grotto is custom built. The waterfall grotto also provide a thrilling jump off point into the deepest part of the pool. This amazing backyard was designed and built for a home in Bull Valley Illinois.

Beachy backyard paradise on Padaro Lane Carpinteria. We imported about 5 truckloads of sand in order to raise the sand level 16 to 18 inches to allow views of the beach - before, it felt like there was a barricade between you and the ocean. It was an unlovely and unusable space. We created a great gathering area with a custom built flagstone bench and several large flagstone slabs for the fire pit. We found the perfect contemporary furniture and placed it around the fire pit. The furniture is custom made with Ipe wood, pre-cast concrete, embed sea glass, aggregate and fossil shells. It had to be heavy enough to not blow away or wander down the beach.

Stay warm and cozy on cool fall nights or during the winter by snuggling up by this modern fire pit.
