Because of the new layout and design selections, it now feels even larger than before. We chose light colors for the walls, flooring, cabinetry, and tiles, as well as a large mirror to reflect more light. A custom linen closet with pull-out drawers and frosted glass elevates the design while remaining functional for this family. This bathroom was inspired by nature and designed to feel larger than its 5'ish x 8'ish footprint. We accomplished this by accenting the back wall and tiling the shower surround to the ceiling to draw the eye back and up. Sticking with a neutral, bright color scheme and using a tall vanity mirror helps bounce the light to create the illusion of space.

For this project we manufactured custom length corten steel planters to fit specific perimeter dimensions of the roof deck. The planters are 36 inches high by 24 inches wide and approximately 44 inches long. The planters sit directly on the wood decking. Also the planters are raised of the decking by one inch to allow for irrigation tubing to be routed under the metal planter box. Photography by Shawn Records
