A door with a mirror inlay is the entrance to this bathroom. The white, hexagonal Carrera marble floor combines beautifully with the white subway tiles on the wall and the Carrera marble countertop. The built-in storage cabinet with wavy glass was built right into the wall, maximizing space and adding storage. What started as an addition project turned into a full house remodel in this Modern Craftsman home in Narberth, PA. The addition included the creation of a sitting room, family room, mudroom and third floor. As we moved to the rest of the home, we designed and built a custom staircase to connect the family room to the existing kitchen. We laid red oak flooring with a mahogany inlay throughout house. Another central feature of this is home is all the built-in storage. We used or created every nook for seating and storage throughout the house, as you can see in the family room, dining area, staircase landing, bedroom and bathrooms. Custom wainscoting and trim are everywhere you look, and gives a clean, polished look to this warm house. In this transitional farmhouse in West Chester, PA, we renovated the kitchen and family room, and installed new flooring and custom millwork throughout the entire first floor. This chic tuxedo kitchen has white cabinetry, white quartz counters, a black island, soft gold/honed gold pulls and a French door wall oven. The family room’s built in shelving provides extra storage. The shiplap accent wall creates a focal point around the white Carrera marble surround fireplace. The first floor features 8-in reclaimed white oak flooring (which matches the open shelving in the kitchen!) that ties the main living areas together. We built this bright sitting room directly off the kitchen. The stone accent wall is actually what used to be the outside of the home! The floor is a striking black and white patterned cement tile. The French doors lead out to the patio. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. Bedroom - contemporary master bedroom idea in Chicago with white walls and no fireplace

The interior of the home is immediately welcoming with the anterior of the home clad in full-height windows, beckoning you into the home with views and light. The open floor plan leads you into the family room, adjoined by the dining room and in-line kitchen. A balcony is immediately off the dining area, providing a quick escape to the outdoor refuge of Whitefish. Glo’s A5 double pane windows were used to create breathtaking views that are the crown jewels of the home’s design. Furthermore, the full height curtain wall windows and 12’ lift and slide doors provide views as well as thermal performance. The argon-filled glazing, multiple air seals, and larger thermal break make these aluminum windows durable and long-lasting.

Dining Room in Trailside View | Refined Transitional Home in Scottsdale, AZ | Room Type: Whole Home Remodel and Furnishings | Project Name: Trailside View Residence | Key Feature: A full home remodel and furnishings project anchored by white oak cabinetry and countertops, where the clients gave Living with Lolo real creative freedom to play with bold fabrics, wallpapers, and drapery that most homeowners would talk themselves out of. Challenge: Transitional design can play it safe by default, neutral palette, inoffensive finishes, nothing that makes you catch your breath. The remodel needed a strong foundation that felt refined and timeless, but the clients wanted more than that. They wanted a home with personality, and the challenge was channeling that creative openness into something cohesive rather than chaotic. Solution: Living with Lolo used white oak cabinetry and countertops to ground the remodel in warmth and quiet sophistication, then let the soft goods carry the personality. Bold fabric choices, expressive wallpapers, and thoughtful drapery gave each room its own moment without losing the thread that connected the whole home. Because the remodel and furnishings were managed together under one roof, the bolder design choices landed the way they were intended to rather than feeling like afterthoughts layered onto a finished renovation. This basement’s bar area rivals any sports bar! The large football mural is actually laser-cut customized wallpaper. The bar itself was created out of reclaimed pine with a honed granite counter and support bars and footrails made from reclaimed black pipes. The front of the bar has wood trim offset by steel inlays. Behind the bar there is a sink and beverage center, complete with an icemaker and wine refrigerator. That distinctive backsplash is whitewashed “Chicago” brick and it is a great focal point that offsets the TV. The adjacent eating area has weathered shiplap walls and a silver, tin ceiling. The column separating the two spaces is wood with steel inlays, the same steel that was used beneath the front of the bar. Welcome to this sports lover’s paradise in West Chester, PA! ASID Design Excellence First Place Residential – Kitchen and Bathroom: Michael Merrill Design Studio was approached three years ago by the homeowner to redesign her kitchen. Although she was dissatisfied with some aspects of her home, she still loved it dearly. As we discovered her passion for design, we began to rework her entire home for consistency including this bathroom.

Renovations made this house bright, open, and modern. In addition to installing white oak flooring, we opened up and brightened the living space by removing a wall between the kitchen and family room and added large windows to the kitchen.
