Inspiration for a small modern courtyard concrete patio remodel in San Francisco with a roof extension

Hammer & Hand and architect Kevin Fischer (of Alice Design) and Charlotte Cooney (of Domestic Arts) transformed an exposed and underutilized yard area into a space for entertaining, relaxing, and guest quarters. The team turned an underused detached garage into a stylish and comfortable 480 SF accessory dwelling unit with it’s own patio area. The side yard is used for a outdoor seating and playing area. The picnic table was made out of reclaimed wood that used to be a deck. The teeter tooter is made from bike seats and handlebars. And corn hole (the red board) is hours of fun for all! Vivian Johnson
