We created this glorious retreat for our homeowners, who live with 3 kids, 2 giant golden retrievers, and 2 cats. After assessing the Feng Shui and coming up with a design plan, we designed a serene space that encouraged romance and peace. The Carrara marble in the main bathroom is timeless, and really bounces the light around. We used all British faucets, sinks, and a soaking tub, complete with English tub filler. The deal was, the husband got a huge walk-in shower, and his wife got her bathtub. Everyone is happy!

With its unusual octagon shape, this living room renovation was a design challenge to be conquered! Orignially, heavy cherry cabinets lining the walls and an oversized fireplace mantle wrapped in green marble. We re-oriented the living room, removed the wall units and renovated the flooring fireplace and window treatments and created a light and bright pallet for which our homeowners can display their gorgeous custom artwork. The custom limestone fireplace and oversized large pendant in the center of the living room create subtle organic details for the mostly neutral palette. Handmade boucle swivel chairs are set opposite low leather slung loungers and the effect conveys comfort yet sophistication. The high-performance fabric on our custom sofa means afternoon naps and golden retrievers are more than welcome!

This sleek modern space was designed with a young professional in mind. Its open feel would fit perfectly in a loft space or a downtown condo. The kitchen’s door style is what really sets the tone as its beauty lies in its simplicity, with straight lines and right angles. And while the cabinetry is clean and understated, the mix of the painted white and the deep brown finishes give the kitchen character. Perfect for a cocktail party, the Island serves as gathering space to enjoy appetizers. The peninsula is situated next to wine shelves and would work great as a drink station. Practical as well as fun, the butt door cabinets just above the sink to the left allow for an open space when both cabinet doors are open as there’s no center rail on the cabinet frame. This option offers homeowners the added convenience of easily storing wide awkward items such as serving platters and board games. Getting ready for the party is easier too, with several smart storage features. For example, a pegged deep drawer organizer provides ample width and depth as well as a special peg board bottom which allows homeowners to keep pots and pans organized. With a drawer organizer next to the stove you won’t have to fumble around to find the utensil you need. And a swing out Lazy Susan makes retrieving items from the awkward corner area a breeze.

The Stainless Steel french door refrigerator was the only holdover from Erin's original kitchen. While its location didn't change, it was surrounded by high storage capacity cabinets. The cabinet above the refrigerator has vertical dividers which allow cookie sheets and large serving plates to be easily stored and retrieved. The pantry cabinet is equipped with pull out shelves so nothing gets lost in the back of the cabinet.

The Hayward Sofa is upholstered in Benz "Otter" microfiber velvet, with mirror arm inlays, nailhead trim, and silver legs. This fabric is easy to clean and has a double rub count of 100,000! This sofa is elegant for a modern space that can withstand the test of time, or your golden retriever. This sofa sits at 84 inches long, 34 inches tall, and about 30 inches tall.

"Crawl in and snuggle" is what this room says to my clients now that we have updated their master with a new bright, airy and fresh appeal! The classic lines of the furnishings are complimented by a wave of textiles in soft creams, whites, and alabaster with just a hint of robin's egg blue to give it that spa like feel. Just enough traditional elements to keep it classic and timeless, yet with fashion forward attitude they both appreciate. Added bonus, it is all dog friendly! As their retriever Cosmo shares this space with them.

This kitchen was reinvented for homeowners who share a passion for cooking. The in-house chefs – one a baker, the other a cook – requested a separate counter space to work with dough and where the mixer lift-up could be housed. Large appliances were also a must. And so was Wood-Mode cabinetry, like they had in their previous home. Designer Jennifer Hissa got to work creating a unique design to fit everything in. While only two shallow display wall cabinets were planned for the space, Hissa designed every other upper cabinet in a standing counter style to provide a maximum amount of storage with use of traditional wall cabinets. A clean, white color palette was selected with pops of black and stainless steel accents. Wood-Mode’s Nova Recessed door style in Matte Nordic White was an easy choice. But the countertop wasn’t. Wanting a unique natural stone option, it took the homeowners and Hissa several months to locate the final selection. Flip-up wall cabinets provide easy access to slide larger appliances in and out, and the mixer gets its on special cabinet. And a magic corner organizes and quickly retrieves baking bowls and pans, while tray partitions keep baking sheets in order from roasting pans. This 1990's home, located in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley neighbourhood, had high ceilings and a great open plan layout but the decor was straight out of the 90's complete with sponge painted walls in dark earth tones. The owners, a young professional couple, enlisted our help to take it from dated and dreary to modern and bright. We started by removing details like chair rails and crown mouldings, that did not suit the modern architectural lines of the home. We replaced the heavily worn wood floors with a new high end, light coloured, wood-look laminate that will withstand the wear and tear from their two energetic golden retrievers. Since the main living space is completely open plan it was important that we work with simple consistent finishes for a clean modern look. The all white kitchen features flat doors with minimal hardware and a solid surface marble-look countertop and backsplash. We modernized all of the lighting and updated the bathrooms and master bedroom as well. The only departure from our clean modern scheme is found in the dressing room where the client was looking for a more dressed up feminine feel but we kept a thread of grey consistent even in this more vivid colour scheme. This transformation, featuring the clients' gorgeous original artwork and new custom designed furnishings is admittedly one of our favourite projects to date!

This project was a newly constructed home from the ground up. The client came to us with the objective of creating a legacy home that would carry the family through the next chapter of their lives. This family of five includes three young adults, now all off at university, and two labrador retrievers. The open concept design was intentional to take in the view of the ocean and the city. Architectural details were used to define space and create cozy moments within the home.
