Plant Patent #18,645. Cultivar name: 'JACshlav'. This member of the high-performing, popular Simplicity® series is a wonderfully citrus-scented variety that perfumes the entire garden with its very large double blooms. Smaller and more tightly held than the original Simplicity® but every bit as well-branched, vigorous, and easy to care for, Fragrant Lavender Simplicity® delivers armloads of mauve blooms all summer long.
Perfect for border or mixed planting as well as hedge, foundation, and mass planting, this floribunda offers 3 1/2-inch blooms, fully double (average petal count of 30), set in large clusters, and very heavily reblooming. Reaching 4 to 5 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide, it's the smallest of the Simplicity® series, superb for small spaces and even containers, yet bred for the border, hedge, foundation, and mass planting. Expect heavy and frequent cycles of glorious bloom all summer long!
Named for their ease of care, the Simplicity® series is famously unfussy, needing no spraying or other treatment to keep their healthy foliage and heavy flowering. Zones 5-10.

The landscape of this home honors the formality of Spanish Colonial / Santa Barbara Style early homes in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix. By re-grading the lot and allowing for terraced opportunities, we featured a variety of hardscape stone, brick, and decorative tiles that reinforce the eclectic Spanish Colonial feel. Cantera and La Negra volcanic stone, brick, natural field stone, and handcrafted Spanish decorative tiles are used to establish interest throughout the property.
A front courtyard patio includes a hand painted tile fountain and sitting area near the outdoor fire place. This patio features formal Boxwood hedges, Hibiscus, and a rose garden set in pea gravel.
The living room of the home opens to an outdoor living area which is raised three feet above the pool. This allowed for opportunity to feature handcrafted Spanish tiles and raised planters. The side courtyard, with stepping stones and Dichondra grass, surrounds a focal Crape Myrtle tree.
One focal point of the back patio is a 24-foot hand-hammered wrought iron trellis, anchored with a stone wall water feature. We added a pizza oven and barbecue, bistro lights, and hanging flower baskets to complete the intimate outdoor dining space.
