Inspiration for a large farmhouse kitchen/dining room combo remodel in New York

These gathering blocks made with a hard maple base. Designed to save space and will fit in most kitchens to save counter space for an extra food prep station. These butcher block tops are end grain made out of reclaimed hard maple from our shuffleboard manufacturing. Each table features a pull out drawer large enough for a full size butcher knife. Butcher block tops are finished with a food save mineral oil and bees wax.

This Live Edge Coffee Table is handmade using Oregon Big Leaf Highly Figured Maple for the top and steel 3/4" square modern base powder coated matte black. The top has a black walnut border and is covered by a 6mm layer of tempered clear glass to prevent any moisture damage and to give a very sleek modern feel. _____________________________________________________________________ PROCESS // These pieces undergo a 5 layer satin hardwax finish (OSMO Polyx) this helps protect from any spills or stains or sun fade and will keep the overall beauty of the wood. Dimensions are 35"W x 35"L x 16"T We use epoxy to fill voids and cracks to prevent cracks from growing and to stabilize the wood. Top is made from 3 slabs of amazing figured Big Leaf Maple with tons of Curling and Birdseye. All Slabs are Kiln or air dried to stable moisture levels to create long lasting quality slabs of the finest hardwoods. Hardwoods are locally sourced.

This table was built for a local business needing a boardroom table. Having a boardroom with a smaller footprint required a table smaller than one would expect in a boardroom setting. At 6′ x 3′ it would be perfect for most dining spaces but often our designs are very scalable such as the one in this portfolio. The tabletop was built solid 1.5″ Elm wood from 3 beautiful slabs. The Elm compliments the industrial style of our Reardon leg base. Details: 6’ x 3′ reclaimed Elm table finished with OSMO Hardwax Polyx Oil with Reardon leg base in black powder coat finish.

Storage for toys in base cabinets plus floating shelves for display. Note that with this cabinet size we could have gone with either one or two doors for each of the five cabinets. One full-depth adjustable (on shelf pins) shelf in each cabinet. Floating shelves use HOVR Brackets. They have a precision-milled construction lumber frame with a mitered 1/4" MDF shell with epoxy-reinforced edges/corners.

The featured table was crafted from two live edge spalted Poplar slabs. This stunning table is 7'6" in length and ranges in width from 43" to 39". The slabs were meticulously planed, sanded, joined, oiled and finished with eight coats of a water base urethane. WEngineer Design offers Live Edge Dining Tables made to fit your desired outcome.
