Paola took astronomy in college and enjoyed that course a lot. For a long while now, she's been wanting to create a scheme centered around astronomy, knowing a nursery or child’s bedroom would be the ideal spaces for this. Our approach for themed spaces is to introduce the “elements” in a subtle way as to give the hint that indeed this room is “celestial themed” but it‘s not obvious. First we chose the awesome shagreen wallpaper, not a conventional choice, but works so well in imitating that “rocky” feel of the moon. From there, we added the geometric prints, which reference science, math, planets? We just didn’t want to add actual planet prints because we still wanted the room to feel sophisticated. All the little details like the moon throw pillow and stary velvet fabric on the ottoman are genius.

A Space that Invites Conversation We love a four chair room especially one with luxurious chairs like these in a soft supple camel leather. We combined them with the softest sheep skin rug and moody photograph by Tim Burns to create a deeply cozy space. The end result is a comfortable and cozy room that invites long hours of conversation. Orange draperies! Why of course! All we had to do here was arrange the client's guest room furniture in its new home and choose a paint color and window treatments. We went searching for a round pattern to play off the round pieces in the quilt and chose a length based on the built in seat by the window! The client was delighted. Decorating should make you happy!

Natural light abounds. This frosted glass and chromed steel dining table from IKEA is perfect for eating, or additional desk/workspace. Versatility is important to Bebe Daddy. Acrylic chair by CB2 is a fantastic option for seating in small spaces, as it consumes less visual space. The breakfast bar behind also features two raw steel barstools by CB2, offset with soft white sheep pelts.

Updates to this living area centered on adding modern touches (personal favorites are the 'melting' slab side tables and the Tom Dixon Beat floor lamp) and removing decor to allow more prominence to those remaining items.
