I find myself voluntarily taking phone calls while sitting on the bench of my mudroom, simply because it's a comfortable place to be. My kids do their homework in the mudroom sometimes. My cat loves to curl up on sweatshirts temporarily left on the bench, or cuddle up in boxes on their way out to the recycling bins, just outside the door. The transformation from the bedroom pictured in the previous image and this room is simply amazing. This house in Lower Burns Park in Ann Arbor had a small, cramped and chopped kitchen with no eating area or space for a family to cook or gather. The Rochman Design Build Team stayed with the clients' feel for a more European kitchen, opened up the walls, and created a space where the family can now make dinner, do homework or put groceries away, all at the same time :-)

In this photo, you can see the same image as before, where the 75" TV is covered by the VisionArt Painting. Aside from the speakers showing, one may never know that this is a fully functional media room! With this Spanish Transitional Style residence, we were once again tasked with hiding ALL technology. As you can see from the photos, between Paintings covering TV's, multiple automated lifts from cabinets, and a large mirror making the TV disappear, when not in use, the technology is simply not present. All the system is controlled Via iPhone and iPad minimizing the need to unsightly touch panels throughout as well except for the crucial thoroughfares. The system used in this residence was a fully integrated Savant Automation Platform with Lutron Homeworks Lighting Control.

This room contains, other than meticulous design, a 75" Samsung LED covered when not in use by a VisionArt Roller Painting System. With this Spanish Transitional Style residence, we were once again tasked with hiding ALL technology. As you can see from the photos, between Paintings covering TV's, multiple automated lifts from cabinets, and a large mirror making the TV disappear, when not in use, the technology is simply not present. All the system is controlled Via iPhone and iPad minimizing the need to unsightly touch panels throughout as well except for the crucial thoroughfares. The system used in this residence was a fully integrated Savant Automation Platform with Lutron Homeworks Lighting Control.

This blue and white kitchen simply POPS! This narrow galley kitchen had pretty good placement of its appliances originally, except for the double ovens. (see before picture). We had to move those down, so when in use you weren't 1-blocking the door way and 2-dangerously close to the cook top. We also wanted to give these new homeowner more countertop space for prep, and a place for them to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a place for the kids to do homework while mom & dad worked on dinner. HOMEREDI did an amazing job bringing our design to fruition. I just love the gold fixtures the homeowner selected for the final touches. The gold looks amazing against our blue cabinetry. The combo just screams luxury, doesn't it?

This small dining room serves more than one purpose. The homeowners use it as an office and their children do their homework in this bright and sunny room. We chose to use the china cabinet for decorative items instead of traditional dinnerware. Simply Elegant Interiors, Tampa.

This small family room needed to serve two functions. It needed to seat five along with having a desk area for work, bill paying, and homework. Using a sectional sofa was the best way to give the homeowners everything on their wish list. Not only does it comfortably seat five (or more), but there was room to fit a desk and chair behind it. The desk allows for lighting since there was no additional space for an end table. The tufted ottoman can be used to prop feet, hold drinks, or seat more guests. Simply Elegant Interiors, Tampa.
