For our Updated Spec Home, we reused furniture from a previous home which included a twin daybed, a vanity and stool, and my Nana’s wedding chest. However, we updated it by popping a blue accent color in the artwork, fabrics and accessories. Updated Spec Home Guest Bedroom - Robin's Nest Interiors This oversized landscape artwork was the inspiration for our new accent color. We used that blue to selected fabric for the daybed pillows, cushions for the chest and panels for the palladium window. We added blue ceramic flowers as additional wall decor. The wool rug has various shades of blues in it as well. The perfect application for this style of window is panels installed on medallions which highlight the curve. My sister was skeptical of the design because she was concerned the panel would look sloppy. Our workroom did a fabulous job of finishing the top for a very tailored look. I do so hate to tell my sister “I told you so.” This is a beautiful room that homeowner or guest would love to stay in. Enjoy!

The owner wanted a bright, fun, welcoming Keywest color combination that her young children and community would enjoy. We ended up getting lots of thumbs-ups from neighbors...even the older ones that were skeptical at first.

The owner loves the white homes you see all over Instagram, but it wasn’t for her; she wanted a paint scheme that would flow throughout the house. When she chose tobacco brown as the wall color for the guest room, her husband was so skeptical. However, now it is one of their favorite rooms. She chose the bed next, which she fell in love with immediately, and decorated the rest of the space around it.

Scott Buley, HTT&T, High Tech Turf & Trees. Originally these owners hired us in to consult on removing these tree stumps to plant a lawn to facilitate weddings. They had plenty of lawn elsewhere on site, so we "pitched" the Rain Garden island idea to retain the stumps and expose their roots, within a new dry-creek design concept. They were skeptical at first, and ecstatic with the results. Now they host the weddings in this area, and park cars on the grass.

What's new to the revolve showroom this week? The Delfina Bedroom Collection. When we first saw pictures of this we were a little sceptical. It looked waaay 70's and not in a good waaay. But in person, it's stunning. The reclaimed wood layers glow in a rich dark brown with bronze undertones and the black metal legs bring out the contrasting black grain.
