Antique Elm Flooring brings warm golden brown tones and rich grain into this modern kitchen, grounding the space beneath a large waterfall island and open staircase. Our Antique Elm flooring is milled from barn timbers dating from 1820 to 1880, and sports unique marks such as wormholes, peg holes, and mortise pockets imparted by centuries old woodworking.
Because of widespread Dutch Elm Disease in the 1970s, new Elm wood is nearly impossible to find, making reclaimed timbers the best option if you want its invitingly warm tones in your home. At Manomin Resawn Timbers, every board goes through a detailed process of denailing, kiln drying, and precision milling, so this rare wood performs beautifully in a modern living space.
Whether you are a homebuilder, a home remodeling contractor, or a homeowner looking to bring reclaimed wood flooring into a kitchen or any room in your home, Manomin Resawn Timbers has been helping people discover the antique charm of reclaimed wood since 2002. Visit our showroom in Hugo, MN or reach out to us with a call or a message to get started.

The Brogdon's back patio area has been completely transformed by Tim Disalvo & Company. It has an entertaining courtyard outside the screened porch, and an outdoor kitchen with dining area under the roof extension. The lighting is so modern and serene.
If you need a great place to relax this Spring and Summer, give Tim a call at 901-753-8304.

This home was built in 1983 and looked every bit its age. As is so often the case, the owners purchased it because it was a great deal, in a great school district and had "good bones." But the accolades ended at the curb. The home was a hotbed of bad choices and not to their liking. So armed with YouTube video and a Home Depot card they set out to change it.
After years of DIYing it and still not happy, the owners decided it was time to call Alair and get the expertise of professional help if they were ever going to have the home of their dreams.

Bloomington is filled with a lot of homes that have remained trapped in time, which is awesome and fascinating (albeit sometimes frightening). When this young family moved to Bloomington last spring, they saw potential behind the Florida wallpaper of this Eastside ranch, and good bones despite its choppy layout. Wisely, they called SYI and Loren Wood Builders for help bringing it into the two thousand-teens.
Two adjacent bathrooms were gutted together and went back up in much better configurations. A half bath and mud-cum-laundry room near the garage went from useful but blah, to an area you don't have to close the door on when guests come over. Walls came down to open up the family, living, kitchen and dining areas, creating a flow of light and function that we all openly envy at SYI. (We do not hide it whatsoever. We all want to live in this happy, bright house. Also the homeowners are amazing cooks, another good reason to want to move in.)
Like split-levels and bi-levels, ranches are often easy to open up for the casual and connected spaces we dig so much in middle America this century.
Knock down walls; unify flooring; lighten and brighten the space; and voila! a dated midcentury shell becomes a modern family home.

Welcome to five separate units of luxury living.
The residences at Greenleaf are the new standard for living the integrated lifestyle. While multiple systems control everything from lighting and powered windows, to custom wireless shades, the life of a Greenleaf resident iseasily controlled through their touchscreen interface.
A Single Interface – Unlimited Control
Greenleaf units are all controlled through an AMX system using an intuitive iPad user interface. With such a powerful system, residents are able to control their lighting, as well as powered shades and motorized windows through the simple touch of a button.
Intelligence in Technology
Thanks to automated sensors, residents are always in the know about their home and safety – whether at home or away. The control system monitors the weather and natural lighting to close powered windows if they need to be shut for incoming rain, and raise or lower shades automatically.
Lights can be set to turn on as any resident gets home from work late at night, welcoming them home after a long day away. While they are getting ready to head out for a night on the town, residents can listen to their favorite music throughout the home and call the elevator when they’re ready all from one spot.
Call stations allow you to always know who is at the front door, so having multiple guests over for dinner is easier (with less trips up and down the stairs). Remote, secure access allows the home owner to control their property from anywhere in the world and make sure everything is safe and sound.
Save Energy Without Lifting a Finger
Motorized shades can be raised and lowered automatically by the system according to weather and season for efficient light harvesting. Dimmers throughout the residences are set to a default turn-on of 80% for more energy savings. Residents can monitor their heating and cooling systems, as well as energy use, all from their touch pads at home or away.
Control that Disappears
At every Greenleaf residence your eyes focus on the luxurious design, not the state-of-theart technology that seamlessly controls it all. Spire collaborated to create custom solutions focused around an integrated lifestyle while maintaining the high-end design expected at the Greenleaf Trust building.

Figuring out how to make a big kitchen work better — for a chef wanting to use her kitchen for both cooking classes and corporate entertaining — is what won Janice two design awards. A designer with Drury Design in the Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn, Janice won first place in the large kitchen category in the NKBA competition for greater Chicagoland. The same project was also named by Trends magazine as one of its Top 50 kitchens for 2013-2014, the second straight year a Drury project has been so honored.
The cabinetry is from Grabill’s Benchmark line with an Olde Towne door style in maple and finished in Super White. Janice uses Grabill all the time, she said. “What we like most about them is their turnaround time. They have a very good product at a fair price. They have a great warranty.”
With the kind of detail involved in this kind of project, they are also “most helpful in double-checking everything to make sure everything fits the way I planned it. If they see any issues, if there are any questions, they don’t make assumptions. They call me and we work things out. They’re very flexible in how they work.”
This transitional style in its Super White finish from Grabill provides a lot of flexibility, explained Janice. “There’s a really pretty aqua color on the walls, but everything else is neutral, so the owner can put whatever accent color she wants with it and it will still work. So she can really change the look of the kitchen with just the paint color.”

Our clients have a busy life so they wanted their inner city garden to be low fuss and look low fuss. They wanted outdoor spaces that looked relaxed, with a simple and soft palette of finishes that acknowledged their coastal location. The site conditions and their brief also called for plants that were hardy and that would tolerate the full sun and sandy soils. The structural finishes and the plant colours provide a harmonious blend and compliment the design choices of the interior.
