Steve Kennedy lives in a barn. At least that's where he spends a great deal of time when he's not at work running Kennedy, Inc., manufacturers of sterling silver corporate gifts. After all, that's where he keeps his baby - a 1954 Chevy half-ton, step-side pickup with a short bed and 5-window cab. Steve restores vintage trucks at home in a special building out back - equipped for just that occasion. But don't let the barn boards and beams fool you. As someone who knows the value of high-end merchandise, Steve works on his latest project with the help of Lista drawer storage cabinets. He uses them to store and organize all the parts and tools he needs to keep his truck's 235 cubic inch straight 6 with four-on-the-floor purring like a kitten. This is Steve's country. "We have Lista products in our factory, so I've become accustomed to that level of quality - other products seem like junk in comparison. Lista is the premium product, and when you compare pricing, you appreciate Lista's value." Steve adopted the Chevy truck five years ago. It was solid with minimal rust at the time, but it was sorely in need of a cab-off restoration. Now that it's looking sweet, it gets all the attention almost. "The first thing people look at when they come to the barn is, obviously, the Chevy truck. But right after that, they start staring at the Lista cabinets. They say, 'Oh man, Lista - that's the best!' "

Like the boy's room the first thought, at least from the girl, was "I want it pink, I want it ALL pink". And we definitely gave her all the pink she could look at, while relaxed in her bed staring up at the ceiling. As for the rest of the room we chose a light grey/white color called barely there csp-725 to restore balance and light to the room.

The nursery is a study in bold geometry with Moroccan-style wallpaper on the ceiling, honeycomb wall shelves, and repeating squares in the rug and bookcase. This is one colorful lawn replacement! It's hard not to stare as your drive by. We replaced artificial turf with a pollinator friendly, drought tolerant garden. The clients wanted the unusual and a garden they could make cut arrangements the year around with flowers and foliage. The mad foliage color brightens the house in what is typically a foggy neighborhood. There is also an Asian Pear shoe horned in that we plan to espalier on the front of the house. Also a lemon and lime although they are too small to see so far. And this is just a baby garden! It's been in for about 6 months in this picture so its got plenty of time to evolve its already explosive personality.

Talk to the Animals In a child's room, the best thing a mural can do is help stimulate the imagination. In a nursery, it could be cute animals; in an older child's room, a world map (we have special maps just for kids). Tracy shares: "We love the mural and our baby boy loves it too! He lays in his crib and intently stares at all of the animal faces, and sometimes he babbles away to them as if he's trying to tell them a story.
