A small guest cottage is tucked in the upstairs of the carriage house of a local historic Victorian home. Although the space is small, the homeowner wanted to be true to the historic architecture while gaining every little bit of storage space possible. We met this goal using frame-less construction cabinetry in a simple traditional style -- adding details such as the turned posts at the bar and rosette/fluting on the upper cabinets. On the refrigerator wall, we reduced the depth of the base cabinets to allow the sink to center on the window -- the corner wall cabinet also had to be reduced in depth to fit. This staggered effect lends charm to the space besides being practically necessary. Note the plank ceiling, window seat & lighted upper display in the cabinets.

A vintage home now has a "vintage' style kitchen. The aging Victorian featured high plank ceilings, rustic door and window casings and an all around old-fashioned appeal. We complemented this with classic white cabinets in a simple style and then added the pop of blue in the interiors.

Based on French country styling, this kitchen offers contrasts between light and dark while maintaining an wide-open aesthetic. A custom designed wood hood with integrated storage, hutch with glass doors and carved details, open shelves and detailed crown assembly lend a unique appeal to the space. We used an integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator and hid the microwave behind cabinet doors to reduce the visual impact of the appliances. A bow front set of drawers is the highlight on the public side of the island and a farmhouse style sink accents the working side. Another unique feature of this kitchen is the specialty imported Iroko wood butcher-block counter in an oiled finish.

A truly soft contemporary look -- clean lines without fuss mix with warm colors and light wood finishes for an inviting whole. A kitchen that you want to cook in. We combined the kitchen entry and pass-thru into one big opening, removing the short hanging cabinets and adding a bar peninsula, to create an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Next, we moved the refrigerator down, centering it on the wall, removing it from its former cramped corner position. On either side of the refrigerator the homeowner’s wife requested extra wide (42”) deep drawers and more counter space. The range remained in place and gained a stylish stainless chimney hood. For great storage access we added corner swing-out shelves, lots of deep drawers, roll-out shelves and a pull-out trash cabinet. The wall corner cabinets were flared for extra storage and optional lazy susans.
The new counter is engineered quartz with a textured finish in a dark charcoal color. The backsplash features large format tile in a variegated pattern of beige and green while the floor tile harmonizes in tones of mossy green. We added a nice new stainless dishwasher and undermount stainless sink and finished off the remodel with a tray ceiling and recessed lights.

A quintessential beach home, the use of our heartwood maple Wood-Mode cabinets in a matte driftwood stain was a ideal choice by these homeowners. The high ceilings called for a varied height top alignment of the cabinetry and a nice sized crown detail. Lots of drawers, a deluxe lazy susan and a roll-out shelf pantry fill out this kitchen. Oh, and don't forget the island with prep sink and raised bar seating.

A contemporary kitchen featuring high-gloss white laminate cabinetry with black granite counters. Note the light bridges at the ceiling and the overall clean lines of the space. A black clad toe kick emphasizes the transition between the floor and the cabinetry -- keeping the crisp white of the floor from blending boringly into the cabinets & creating unique visual planes.
