Streamworks Designs, Marcel Koller This stream looks like it is something you might stumble across in the forest but it is 100% built and designed to fit in the homeowner's backyard. This is a "pondless waterfall", that is a waterfall and stream, without the maintenance of a pond - the water "disappears" at the bottom of the stream and recirculates to the top! Beautiful!

This propery is situated on the south side of Centre Island at the edge of an oak and ash woodlands. orignally, it was three properties having one house and various out buildings. topographically, it more or less continually sloped to the water. Our task was to creat a series of terraces that were to house various functions such as the main house and forecourt, cottage, boat house and utility barns. The immediate landscape around the main house was largely masonry terraces and flower gardens. The outer landscape was comprised of heavily planted trails and intimate open spaces for the client to preamble through. As the site was largely an oak and ash woods infested with Norway maple and japanese honey suckle we essentially started with tall trees and open ground. Our planting intent was to introduce a variety of understory tree and a heavy shrub and herbaceous layer with an emphisis on planting native material. As a result the feel of the property is one of graciousness with a challenge to explore.

This is the photo that inspired the client's new room! One day this summer, a gentleman brought in one of our Knilans’ flyers; he showed me a beautiful photo of a living room, that we featured! It incorporated quiet white furnishings, with a pop of gray and mustard; including a brightly colored accent rug! He was interested in duplicating the room, in his own home. We ran into a couple of stumbling blocks right away; the pattern on the chairs had been discontinued, and the pricing for the pictured furniture was a bit more than he wanted to invest into this room. I did a house call to see his room, did furniture layouts, I selected furniture pieces, and fabrics, that seemed inspired by the original room, and found THE rug. This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. KitchenAid offers this cabinet depth/french door/panel ready fridge. It gets used a lot for its good price point. It however only comes with a black case. Discovering how to manage that stumbling block was challenging but accomplished! The GE Advantium Oven is the best kitchen 2 for 1 ever made! It works as a microwave and a convection oven for all those holiday feasts you plan to prepare. A perfect choice for compact spaces. Also take note of the pantry/appliance garage far right. Included in the "Project Pics" are interior shots which give you a good idea of how useful it is to be able to close off some spaces!
