The portrait is by Bradshaw Crandell. The subject is "Brenda", a New York socialite. Painted in 1958 it is in the style of classical portraiture. The original frame is hand carved and French in origin. Bradshaw Crandell was the in-house cover artist for Cosmopolitan magazine1935-1946. the Cosmopolitan cocktail is named after him. The crystal candelabra date from the 1920's and were purchased from a very old Druid Hills estate. They required significant restoration as they were cracked, filthy, and missing parts. The "square grand" piano dates to the 1840s and is heavily inlaid with satinwood amongst other woods. Manufactured in New York city it has highly unusual curved legs.
